On a side note,(iced) tea is supposed to be sweet. Nothing gripes my ass more than ordering tea and they say "Sweet or unsweetened?" If I'd wanted unsweetened, I'da said "Unsweetened tea, please". If I order Pepsi, they don't ask "Regular or Diet?"

And don't bring me unsweetened tea and point to the sugar rack. That poo don't dissolve in cold liquid.

SOUTHERN SWEET TEA

Bring about a quart or so of water to a boil and remove from heat.

Put four family size tea bags in the pot of hot water and let steep about 45min.

In a one gallon jug, pour two cups of sugar and the still warm "tea water" and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Fill the rest of the way with cold water and let chill in the fridge until it's cold.

You're welcome!!!

Not really. As someone who's managed restaurants in the south for most of my life, we ask because we have to ask. Not everyone has your definition of correct use of "iced tea" vernacular. More often than not, when someone says they want "iced tea" its some northerner that wants unsweetened. Also restaurants sell almost equal amounts sweet to unsweet because all the fatties like to load down their tea with aspartame packed goodness in some belief that they're preventing their man tits from growing by doing so.

My restaurant puts a 5lb bag per 3 gallons, for the record. People love that poo. I think we are giving the entire county diabetes, but whatever.

5lbs per 3 gallons? Jesus Christ! Lol. Are you still at that bar in Shalotte?

I'm trying to watch my calorie intake so I switched to unsweetened with no artificial sweeteners. I know it's treasonous as a Southerner but I had to do it. It took some getting used to but now I don't even notice. (Actually I'm lying, I do notice and it fuging sucks but I'll be 40 in two years and I don't need man tits fuging up my sales calls).
