Kelvin Benjamin interview on WFNZ

Let's not act like we're picking him at 1st overall. The 28th pick in itself is hit or miss.

Incorrect, this is the deepest draft in NFL history because of the CBA (the sooner you get to the NFL, the sooner you can get out of your rookie contract and sign big). Around our pick will be the last sure-fire pick, we have to make sure we take one, one will be available at CB, WR, or OT.

Cam was a Heisman trophy winner and won a national championship

And we needed a QB

Who else should we picked? Plus Rivera was the main one who made the decision once he spent time with the college players before the draft. Lol we can't compare Cam to Kelvin

Kelvin won a NC as well, with the game winning TD with seconds on the clock.

we need more outside targets, especially ones with size and a larger catching radius.

Rivera could spend time with KB, and like what he sees as well. remember its not what he is now, but what he will be in years. he could contribute to the team, while developing. he knows he will have to work on his craft, and continue to get better.

“I mean it’s quite funny, the kid is amazing. He can be so much more I feel like that was just the tip of the iceberg," said S Terrence Brooks. "He works very hard, I’m glad to see where he’s come from to the point where he is now. He’s definitely changed his whole mindset toward the game and just life in general, it’s just amazing. It’s crazy to see guys try to guard him.”

After a season of inconsistency, this year Benjamin seems to finally be putting it all together.

"KB has some real advantages with his size and speed and athleticism he can be a very, very special player and he’s starting to really develop into that guy," Jimbo Fisher said after yesterday's game.

"[He's] worked, and understands the details of things. And I’m going to tell you thing about KB that’s one of the greatest, we know his size, we know his speed, good focus, learning to be an every down player, being physical, giving effort on every play, but the thing that about him that makes him very unique… he’s very intelligent."

Added Benjamin: "I think it's just doing the little things to be a great receiver, basically. Get in there and watch the film real early, just studying your opponent. I kind of felt like I knew the team [today], like I've played with them all my life."

if we were picking at 14 no but were picking at 28 that would be great value and filling a need. ricky proehl will teach him everything he needs to know about the route tree. 6.5 guys dont grow on trees. i can see him and Cam working magic for years to come. they both do wear #1

Actually 6'5" guys do grow on trees in this draft.

I personally like Martavis Bryant of Clemson who was overshadowed by Sammy Watkins.

You can get Bryant in the 3rd round, but if you watch his game it resembles a young Steve Smith. Imagine Steve Smith 6'5" and 200 lbs. Bryant competes for the ball when it is in the air, plays extremely physical/nasty, has great body control, has good hands, has an imposing stiff arm and attacks with his first step after the catch. All his weaknesses can be coached up.

Another late gem who will likely be overlooked is Brandon Coleman of Rutgers.

I say trade down the first round pick in the draft. Pick one of the Tight Ends and Offensive Tackles who fall into the second round. Then grab Martavis in the 3rd round and Coleman in the 4th round. Finish by drafting a couple tall CBs as well as OT Billy Turner from North Dakota State with the final 3 picks.

BPA will be picked, whether MLB or DT.  Gettleman doesn't play the games you guys are assuming.

I would pick Kelvin 8 days a week and twice on Sunday but, Dave will do what Dave will do.

And he knows better than I (you) do.

Stop it dude. He will not pick a DT or MLB or QB. You guys take that BPA wayyyyyy to serious.

Do not want. He's a bum with inconsistent hands.

Also, I suspect he runs like a 4.7 40.

You would be wrong. He makes the tuff grabs with ease. Focus might be one of his biggest problems which is coachable. He will run a 4.5. Majority of his passes are down the field so he is a deep threat player,So what if he runs a 4.6 he creates separation with size which is something you can't teach. Ans what perfect prospect are you planning on landing at 28? this is the spot you win big or gamble on the potential of winning big. Highest upside in the draft at WR.

Odell beckham

I'm beginning to lean that way as well. I was on the Jordan Matthews bandwagon, but it seems he may slide out of 1st round consideration. Beckham would be a good get at 28. Benjamin is a freak, but too raw for me. It could be 2015/2016 before he becomes the player we need right now.
