Kelvin Benjamin interview on WFNZ

what off field issues? I did see that he got started at FSU a little late.

If this draft is supposed to be "loaded" with WR talent (according to analysts/experts) - I just hope we don't take a guy too soon when we have bigger needs and their may be better options (like a CB or OT) in the first. Benjamin is an inticing prospect though.

I don't know of any, other than work ethic was questionable when he was a freshman.

would love to have him. his sloppy route running can be improved on, plus he has natural separation because of his size. there are no off field issues, he struggled with learning the playbook of Jimbo's pro style offense and got reshirted. but once he dedicated his time into football, you seen him improve and get more playing time, and then he had a break out year. he does turn 23 this month, but was only a redshirt soph. still young to the game of football.

Marc James is simply un-listenable. I used to be a fan of Primetime with Pacman and the Drive with Taylor Zarzour wasn't too bad.  But Marc sucks.  His constant references to Miami, the way he be-littles his callers, and his horribe analysis are enough to want you to drive your car off a bridge.

Incredible potential. Big game experience. Good producer. Has so far demonstrated good character. Would have the best position coach in the game along with a HoF mentor.

I don't understand the "DO NOT WANT" sentiment.

Stop being scared of greatness. BPA doesn't mean "Safest Player Avaliable." It's okay to take a chance.

Hands are a bit inconsistent but I wouldn't be against him at 28, gotta love that size and ability. Plus we can finally have a guy who can win at the catch point and go for those jump balls

He could be developed into a huge threat, I think the concern to Gettleman who I think seems to play things cautiously will be, do you spend a first round pick on a guy who needs alot of polishing, And is raw at a position of great need?, Especially when there's guys in other positions who may fall to us who are nfl ready studs, I guess not.

I like him a lot because we really really need size at WR. Especially in the redzone. The route running shouldn't be a big issue since we'll have Smitty and Proehl mentoring him and teaching him. And Smitty will put him in his right place discipline-wise. He is indeed very raw, but I believe he is the risk we NEED to take. If he turns out very well, we'll be having our parade around this time next year instead of Seattle.

Here is one report on WR Kevin Benjamin

Carolina Panthers - Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State

There are some flaws in Benjamin's play. His hands can be shaky and his route tree is somewhat limited right now. But it's impossible to not be intrigued by the size, athleticism and upside Benjamin possesses. Receivers who are 6-foot-5 and 234 pounds don't come around often. He could become the Panthers' No. 1 whenever Steve Smith retires.

The scouting report on Benjamin isn't dissimilar to the one earlier when he game out (minus the purported weight issues). Carolina got burned by taking size in Dwayne Jarrett, but that was a unique case of unabashed laziness.

Defense wins championships, but offense gets you there. Let's please get Cam a new weapon.

To those who don't like taking risks, if Hurney listened to and thought like some of you, Cam wouldn't be our QB.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

Cam was a Heisman trophy winner and won a national championship

And we needed a QB

Who else should we picked? Plus Rivera was the main one who made the decision once he spent time with the college players before the draft. Lol we can't compare Cam to Kelvin
