3 of the Top 7 Wide Receivers in the NFL this year were 5' 10".

4 were 6' or less.

Kipper gets paid more than anyone in the biz to supposedly get some correct every once in a while. He may be pretty good with some of the players and how he projects, but he is horrible at discussing teams and their needs.

Not to mention he loses his cool way too easy when people disagree with him, which is pretty funny though...starts shakin and sweating and stuttering...bwahahaha

I think this board thinks Kiper is a fortune teller.The guy doesn't know what every team is gonna do or how there owner and gm thinks. He study's film looks at the weaknessess and gives a logical assessment. Without kiper we wouldn't be talking about the draft. I think when he's done the NFL should induct into the hall of fame. For what he's done for the NFL and grew there brand making the NFL draft bigger than any other sports draft. Hell for what he did for Drafts period in any sport,he made fans look at 40 times shuttle runs and the combine. He made the NFL off season relevant. He made it so that the NFL season is never over. He's not always right but is the weather man always right predicting the weather? Same deal,To say he's bad and such and such is better is beyond stupid in my eyes because without him such and such wouldn't even have a name. Who cares he get's pissed when people disagree with that shows me there is a guy who's passionate about his craft and puts in the work. Kiper is MUST see tv for me every draft season that i look forward too. Nobody brings the draft home like kiper and the debates with todd are legendary.

It is valid to say that a lot of the huge NFL Draft coverage we have right now is because of Mel Kiper.  He was the one who popularized draft analysis via a then fairly new outlet called ESPN.

 

Hall of Fame induction might be a tad much, but he does deserve credit as a pioneer.

 

Joel Buchsbaum - whom most here have probably never heard of - was actually better at it, but not as famous.

If you think watching Mel kipper keeps me interested in who my favorite team should or should not draft...dude.

Has any NFL team wee paid Kiper to scout for them? Kiper is obsessed with his job, but you are asking that I be grateful to him or give him credit for the televising of a draft and scouting that would surely go on with or without his insight and mouth...give me a break.

ESPN is there because of the sport, not the other way around...and they didn't even bring revenue to the sport until they started televising games. I hate it when people try to shovel bs down my throat and tell me it's brownie mix...don't fall for it..please...just...stop
