justice league doom was just rushed to me.   otherwise i liked it well enough.   green lantern first flight is awesome.

Interestingly enough, McKenzie just got the role of Jim Gordon for the Gotham PD pilot. We'll see how that goes. I wasn't a fan of his Batman in Year One but I think he'll make a great, young Gordon. Shame South Land was cancelled though. He was great on that show as a rookie cop too.

No way in hell. Mask of the Phantasm is a fudging masterpiece. The soundtrack, story, voice-acting, etc is out of this world. This isn't just one of the best animated Batman films of all time but it very much competes with live-action too (Nolan's TDK caliber). Hell, I'd argue that MOTP is the best Batman film of all time. This scene singlehandedly puts the movie in the upper echelon (exploring Bruce Wayne's sociopathic psychology):

That voice acting is what you consider, "out of this world?" That was some of the weakest, most emotionless narration I've ever heard. Mike Rowe conveys more anguish narrating Dirty Jobs. Under the Red Hood had John DiMaggio, so in the category of voice acting, Red Hood wins axiomatically.

 

I need to see Year One, though.

I'm sorry but DiMaggio, Ackles, Patrick-Harris and Greenwood don't hold a candle to Conroy, Hamill, Zimbalist Jr, Rosenbaum and Hastings. You wanna talk about cardboard and wood? :lol: Good luck convincing Batfans that UTRH's voice acting was superior. You would get laughed out of Superhero and/or Batman forums.

You're debating about the quality and caliber of voice acting in an animated CB film. Newsflash! You've got some geek in you, bro.

Dude, I'm totally fuggin with you. You're talking to a guy who runs an amateur comic book artists and writers group.

But that said, I still find the voice acting in that cast, save for Mark Hamill, to be very flat.

Yeah, we have about 70 members, 10-15 who attend with regularity. We've had several people publish, we did an anthology with all of our work, we've attended about 4 or 5 conventions at this point as exhibitors. Things are clicking (except for making money. That's an elusive quarry indeed). I'm the one who keeps lagging behind because I get about 10 pages into a comic book, then hate it and quit in favor of a new project. But I think I've got a good one I'm working on now and putting out about a page per week, so Issue 1 should be ready for the DC/Baltimore con season in September.

My wife and I took our 8 year old nephew last night to see it and we all loved it. I thought a lot of it was funny, however, I don't know if the movie or my nephew's reactions were funnier. At one point where they showed the millieniem (sp?) falcon, my nephew's jaw dropped for literally 5 minutes because he is a big star wars fan and wasn't expecting them to be in the movie.... Priceless.
