A Sky Tower for Charlotte?

I think a sky tower would be good for Charlotte.  It would function as a landmark and tourist attraction like the Space Needle in Seattle and Reunion Tower in Dallas.  Since Charlotte is a Queen City, then the Charlotte sky tower could be called The Scepter.  At the base would be a gift shop.  At the top would be a restuarant and observation level. Maybe someone would make it a reality.  Would the Scepter be a welcome addition to the Charlotte skyline?  What do you think.

I think Charlotte needs to focus more on mass transit and their roads than a silly tourist trap.
