Huddle rationale:

Broncos winning with Peyton Manning - "We all know Peyton runs that team and Fox has nothing to do with it and is just a figurehead".

Broncos get blown out in Super Bowl - "Hahahaha Fox blew it, all his fault, damn he sucks at play calling and can't coach".

Yea you have no idea what people are iterating

I guess that's one way to look at it, but you're not going to make up for a 29-0 deficit against the # 1 defense in the league by punting and running draw plays.

Fox coaches like he has a lead, even when he doesn't.

well it didn't look like they were going to do it with manning throwing the ball. The point is Peyton was not effective.  The punting was a result of ineffectiveness not an inherent desire by fox.i don't see that as Fox's fault except that he is HC .i would think the pieces were in place but couldn't come through. I don't see that as a failure by Fox. now the reality is it is highly doubtfull Fox called the plays at all.

You're going to win more than you lose with Foxy, problem is that you're never going to win it all.

on 2 super bowls two guys you never thought would make bad plays did. I don't see any evidence that the losses were Fox's fault unless he told kasay to kick the ball out of bounds or told Peyton to wait to throw when the pass rush is in his face.

All year long Manning and that offense were the strength of that team, so you don't abandon that when the going gets tough and you especially don't abandon that when your down 29-0 in the championship game. At that point they were probably going to lose anyways, so why not go down swinging instead of curling up in a ball and punting/running draws in an attempt to save yourself from being even more embarrassed than you already have been. It is ultimately Fox's fault because he is the HC, so he's the ultimate authority during the game. The HC always reserves the right to jump on his headset and tell his employees that he doesn't like the plays being called, he's the boss.

You can defend coach Fox all you like, but we all saw this same sad story play out here in Carolina for many years and Sunday night made me glad that nightmare is over for us.

fox didn't abandon it. It abandoned Fox. You must not have watched the game. they were totally shutdown.

Bottom line is the comments about Fox were not based on reality but based on dislike for fox and the mob mentality to try to pile on.the whole "head coach reserves the right" is ridiculous because it didn't happen.Which is why the original idea that Fox called those plays is just a load of crap.

So if the team is running draw plays the HC can't do anything about it? He has no say about punting on 4th down? LOL!

You must not know anything about football if you think that.

But don't take my word for it, watch the replay of the Sound FX SB episode that aired last night and listen to Fox direct the play calling....

No mob mentality here, I was actually rooting for Fox to win because he seems like a decent guy and he gave us some good memories... I'm just pointing out that his old habits showed up, it was a "Foxball" clinic.

If coach Fox was a boxer, he would block punches with his face and wait for the other guy to break a knuckle.

It's not a failure, but when you go to the Superbowl and get blown out that badly, and you just went 13-3 the year before, you can't call it a success.

As a matter of fact, I feel better as a panther fan than I would as a broncos fan given how the season panned out.

Agreed, their expectations across the league were much higher than ours. I felt bad losing by 13.... so yeh. Haha!

itis always "if" and that don't fly. Making up stuff is not the same as knowing stuff. And that is what you have done.you have turned the question from what he did to what he is able to do.he also could have called a timeout before they snapped the ball in the EZ for a safety. He has that option as HC.That's how ridiculous your argument is right now. Then turning it into the epitome of ridiculousness by saying "you must not know anything about football." Which is pretty much an inherently false statement to make to anyone.
