UPDATED: Confirmed. Bobcats Exploring Trade for Evan Turner

I don't know if they're just expounding on what was already known or if it has picked up in intensity, but this certainly sounds like it is either on the verge or been fully explored and maybe we're just exploring what else is out there for that price...

The Sixers are $11 million below the cap and about $5 million below the minimum salary floor each team must hit. The penalty for not hitting the floor is weak and of little concern to the Sixers,6 but the flexibility is of major value on the trade market.

It will allow Philly to take on extra salary in any deal for one of the Evan Turner–Young-Hawes trio. The Bobcats are absolutely serious about pursuing Turner,7 per several league sources, and the Sixers could take on Ben Gordon’s expiring contract along with one of Charlotte’s extra first-rounders (likely the 2014 pick Portland owes it) if that closes the deal.

Cherry picking for steals to get highlight dunks doesn't make you a good defender. Neither Wade nor Chalmers are worth a damn as half court man defenders.

Wade is not as good as he used to be, but when hes healthy and putting in a good effort he is quite a good defender.

Not sure why you dont think Chalmers is a bad defender, he wouldnt be getting minutes if he couldnt play defense and hit threes

Evan Turner's future with the Philadelphia 76ers is uncertain as he is midway through his fourth season with the franchise. Turner has often been criticized for failing to live up to expectations.

“Absolutely," said Turner if he's been victim of undue expectations. "But at the same that’s what the No. 2 tag comes with. Sometimes there’s people that write stuff or say stuff that don’t even watch the game. I’ve enjoyed my first few years, first year made it to the playoffs, and was able to play and play some big minutes. Second year, the same thing occurred, they screamed I’m not a scorer. Those two years, the most anybody [on the team] scored was 14 points [Elton Brand averaged 15] and I averaged 10. It’s like people write what they want to write and see what they want to see, and fortunately I’ve gotten over that.

“I’m having a career year [in 2013-14] and people are still complaining. I don’t pay attention to it anymore. I know I can play basketball. Some people have never played basketball in their life and now they’re telling me how to play.

“When it came down to it, I got blamed for dang near everything. I wasn’t this, I wasn’t that. You become insecure about it after a while but once you start maturing, you’re just, whatever. I don’t worry about it anymore.”

Turner will be a restricted free agent this offseason and is a candidate to be traded before the deadline.

I'd actually be more disappointed in losing Sessions.  Guy is a perfect fit for role he plays here.  I don't think Jeremy Lin is a good fit here.

I would leave this team untouched for the season minus Gordon's contract....which actually is a nice asset going into next year so there's even a debate on that.

As far as MKG....we would need something much more substantial then Evan Turner.

No to this trade.

I really like Evan Turner. Huge fan.

I rather go with Greg Monroe, but Turner is no slouch. The kid can really ball at this time. I believe that Gordon and Portland's pick is a more than fair deal. I'm hoping that we can reach a long term deal with him if he's brought here. We are playing at an all time high now under Clifford.  A move like this could really benefit us in the playoffs.

I'm ready to buy my Evan Turner Hornets jersey for next year.

Turner isn't an upgrade over MKG. If they acquire him he better be playing SG alongside MKG.

Defensively, no. Offensively, hell yes he's an upgrade over MKG.

Our defense is playing well right now. I believe that MJ and Cho want to have more offensive power in the playoffs.

In my honest opinion, this could be the best thing to happen for MKG. He gets to come off the bench as a 6th man and just do what he do best: play defense and rebound. Being the no2 overall pick, a ton of weight will be off his shoulders knowing that he doesnt have to go out and produce offensively.

Mkg is the reason our defense is playing well.

Look at the defensive stats when he isn't playing.

This is a "no loss" situation here with Evan Turner. Assuming that the deal (rumored) goes through, we are pretty much renting Evan Turner for "one" late pick (Portland's) and swapping Ben Gordon's contract for Turner. Huddlers dont want to lose Gordon's contract, but at the end of the day if Turner decides that he doesnt want to come back here we'll have plenty of money to go after someone else in FA (Monroe, etc.).

This is a step closer to help this team improve this year and win some games in the Playoffs. We def dont want to settle and go into the playoffs with the roster we have right now.
