UPDATED: Confirmed. Bobcats Exploring Trade for Evan Turner

best that the team could probably do right now is Monroe and Turner and getting Monroe would have taken a first round pick, Bizmack and a few other players to accomplish. That's if he was really ever on the trade block to begin with.

Bass doesn't make since at all, he doesn't fit the team at all and plays really horrible defense. Turner makes the most sense but he isn't worth the asking price unless you get Young with him in a package deal. Monroe doesn't really make sense either, he would likely play the 4 or come off the bench and at the 4, he doesn't make sense at all because of the system Charlotte uses.

Aaron Afflalo might still be on the block, but it would take a whole lot to get him from what I've heard Orlando is asking for in return. (Think multiple first round picks or MKG and Detroits pick combined type of deals)

So pretty much unless it's something that comes out of the blue or Charlotte can get a third team involved, any trade that's made that's been mentioned and linked with Charlotte would be a stupid move and only a very short term helpful move that really damages the long term health of the Franchise player wise.

We are either going to get fleeced or something good happens nobody expected.

Kemba said it best, we don't need more rookies. The team is young enough, we need to add veterans not four more draft picks. There's no way we use all the picks anyway, the excess picks will be moved either by the deadline or draft day (RE: Jeremy Tyler sold for cash).

I don't love Turner, but there's no incentive for them to take a straight Gordon-for-Turner swap, that's why they want a pick. Obviously a second would be preferred, but the Portland pick will be 24th at best. I think that's fair for Turner, but again, I don't necessarily like his fit.

Traditionally late first rounders have less value than early seconds anyway due to guaranteed contracts. I think the FO viewed this year as the best time to send our pick to Chicago, since we have the Detroit pick (which I highly doubt we move) we will have a pick in each of the next two drafts instead of 2-3 this year and none next.

There are a few interesting rumors out of GS, that both Barnes and Thompson are on the block as the team is looking to shake things up and get some pieces back to build a better scoring bench.

Also word is that the Spurs are willing to give up a first to get Turner, so that means the Bobcats would likely have to give up the Piston's pick to get Turner.   A strange rumor that philly wasn't looking for a 2014 pick, but a 2015 draft pick...

If Thompson is on the block go get him! As long as u keep kemba mkg and Jefferson doesn't matter what u have to give up for him. This team is deadly when they hit threes and that is what Thompson does best.

I think it would kill the team short term because of what they would have to give up, but probably not long term. GS wants bench players that can score, so probably Tolliver, Sessions, McRoberts....  And more, I'm not sure if Charlotte has the trade assets player wise to make it work because It would take a lot.

I won't be mad if we stay pat and play out the season.

Also, some people act like this is the last draft there will ever be and are getting really caught up in the hype.

Wiggins has a ways to go. Parker might be the guy but he has had issues defensively and with consistency. Dude from Kentucky I'm not sure what position he will be.

This will be a good draft but maybe not as overwhelming as many initially thought.

Wiggins will come in a tear the NBA up offensively. The NBA and college are completely different in that college is completely system based for 99% of the teams and it holds certain types of players back. Just look at MCW as a perfect example of this.

I would give up Sessions in a minute, but Golden State doesn't need him - they already traded for Crawford and Brooks, and I doubt they give us Thompson for BG, Sessions, and a pick. Seems like a step backwards for them until next season (they get cap space and a pick), which defeats the reason they're looking to trade in the first place. I do think there's a chance for Barnes though.

I just threw Sessions in there for the heck of it, but I think they would be able to use both McRoberts and Tolliver as the 3 and 4 off the bench as shooters. There would have to be another player and pick involved though to make it even close. That's why I said it wasn't likely to happen because Charlotte doesn't have the player assets to offer.

They have very little to offer in that regard imo. Outside of maybe Kemba and MKG, there's not much else that's really trade-able. Most of the assets are in the form of expiring deals and draft picks. Nothing that GS would want in return for either Barnes or Thompson.

I know it isn't likely or feasible but I would love to see him on this team. Maybe a trade like Sessions, Henderson, Zeller and Portland's pick for Thompson, Barnes and Nedovic(salary match and gives us a third pg to make Clifford happy)? No idea how this trade grades value wise. I really like Thompson and this board assures me Barnes=god so I might be underpaying. Then trade Gordon and a second rounder for Turner and Richardson. (If needed give Detroit's pick to GS and Portland's to Philly)

Have a lineup of

Kemba, Thompson, MKG, Barnes, Jefferson with Turner as your sixth man, McRoberts, Biz, Tolliver, and Pargo as the other guys to round out the bench. Richardson, CDR, Adrien, Haywood and Nedovic ride the pine unless there is an injury. That is a solid team imo. A bit small(OK a lot small) but really good spacing offensively.

Also Biz and Zeller could be swapped in the above deal I would just rather keep Biz because he is our only defensive big.

Never going to happen but the trade machine accepted it, gave us one win GS three wins and Philly -3 which is fine because they want to suck.

We'll know shortly if the Bobcats found any takers for the Portland pick combined with Gordon.

I think the Philly deal is dead in the water because of a few things.

1. I don't think Philly wants to take on Gordon's contract with out Charlotte taking back Richardson.

2. I don't think Charlotte is willing to give up the pick if they have to take back Richardson.

Kinda brings up a situation where one team will have to make a concession to make it happen.

If Philly doesn't trade Turner, they'll treat him as an expiring, which is exactly what Gordon would be for them. Sure, Guest Gordon's salary is just about double Turner's (13.2m to about 6.7m), but they wouldn't be paying all of it.

The trade deadline basically represents the 2/3 point of the season, so 67% of the salaries have been paid. Also consider that teams can add up to 3m yearly to account for salary discrepancies.

Gordon: 13.2 / 3 = 4.4m

Turner: 6.7 / 3 = 2.2333333333....

So we can add the $2m to offset the salary differences if need-be. I think we have an offer on the table and Philly is just waiting to see if they can't get something better first. There's really no reason for them to not swap expirings if they can also get a pick out of it.
