Eric Decker Going FA

I like the first 2 ideas. But the 3rd one would be the dumbest move ever. We don't need Clowny and it wouldn't be wise to use 2 late 1st round picks just to move up to get him. If we do that we mind as well go after Waktins instead so we can have a WR threat on the outside. I whether would keep the 2 late 1st rounds and use them on 2 WRs and then the second round pick on an olineman. Then so on.

My point of view on that is we get something for Hardy who will actually take his place as well instead of letting Hardy just walk, and we clear up cap space. And honestly Clowney's could very well be better than Hardy. We need to keep our elite front 7 and that'll be tough without Hardy. Watkins would be good as well and we'd have cap space, but we'd still need to find a replacement for Hardy. If we got Clowney, by the time we'd have to pay him, we'd be clear of our cap woes and would be able to pay him, Luke, Cam, etc.

And also Clowney is from Charlotte. I bet that'd be huge motivation for him next season to help us capture a Super Bowl win, and maybe when pay day comes later he'd go cheaper to stay.

Hakeem Nicks is worlds better.

Generally to call one receiver "worlds better" than another, you would expect said receiver to have atleast one touchdown for the season. Nicks had zero in 2013. He also has injury concerns, and it isn't helping his case any that his team fined him for missing meetings.

I would welcome Nicks here for a reasonable deal, but your statement is silly to say the least.

Hakeem Nicks is worlds better.

When healthy, Nicks is a helluva WR.  As a UNC fan, I love the guy and I think he's a much more realistic option for us based on the contracts he and Decker are likely to demand in FA.  However, I'm not sure how you can say that Nicks is "worlds better" than Decker.  If the contracts weren't an issue, I'd take Decker all day everyday simply for his durability.  Nicks has never played all 16 games of a season in his 5 year career.

Like...Decker...is a by product of Peyton Manning, that's difficult to see? Remember Steve Breaston with KW guys? Remember?

You are reaching.

Decker's job is to catch passes, and get into the end zone, which he has done 24 times in the past two seasons. He's a threat, whether you like it or not. Guess how many times Nicks has reached the end zone in the last two seasons? Three.
