This superbowl is good for the Panthers

The only difference is we have to build our secondary. I think we have the best front 7 in the game. This will get us leads in most games, the problem then becomes our secondary. We are not built for a pass heavy offense. If we cannot get pressure consistantly, we get in to trouble. If we play a typical run to set up the pass offense, we are fine. The good thing is we are very very close to being as good as Seattle on defense.

I am wondering where all of the idiot Madden football fans are screaming that offense wins championships in today's NFL.  The Seahawks showed once again that a dominating defense is key to championships.  They absolutely killed Manning and put their offense in very favorable positions all game long.

If Peyton were a dual threat things could have been different. His lack of mobility is something defenses can look to exploit. Conversely the Seattle's offense had no particular weakness for the broncos to exploit. They put pressure on Wilson but that pressure never get where they expected him to be. Mobility is the kryptonite to those great defenses.

It's a total team effort, and Seattle is a complete team.   We're almost a complete team.   We gotta D that can hang with anyone, but you have to score too.  Putting up 10 points in a playoff game clearly indicates we have to invest on offense, Especially up front.

They didn't kill Manning, they killed ALL of his receivers on EVERY play.

During the draft they will all build their dominating defense..

Leaving plenty of choices for the Panthers to build their dominating offense.

I agree. WR in both 1st and 2nd round please please please Gettleman, get it done. UNLESS we can unload Hardy and our 1st rounder to move up in the 1st to get Clowney, clearing cap space to keep others and sign FA at secondary/WR. That would be the best case scenario, though very unlikely.

Hopefully your right so a guy like evans will slip to us...........

but on another note would rather have a ball hawking safety then a shutdown corner, the corner thing is overrated IMO but the Oline def.needs to be upgraded along with the receiving core.........teams stacked the box religiously the last 6 or so games.

lol which posters said you don't need a good defense to win the super bowl? I know nobody here who has said that.

you have the same predictable genre of poster who confuse posters qualms with a conservative team making the idiotic sweeping generalization that an aggressive team is ZOMG WE NEED 6000 YARD PASSEN LYK IN TEH MADDEN out of either blatant ignorance or an overwhelmingly strong learning/reading disability.

What gets overlooked when a team wins the Sb suddenly the teams who have no game plan think hey we will do what Seattle did. Not that easy.

Also I think the Hawks d was built tob specifically beat the pocket multiple check down qb. Breeds Brady and Manning really on last second adjustments to beat defenses that aren't sound fundamentally. Seattle just stays in their looks.

Their d is also built for the dual threat qb which is the next trend in d at the college level. Building a d to change the read option.

That's why I love football so much. The ongoing chess match btw offense and def.

We need a vastly improved secondary to match up with teams like Denver and New Orleans on a regular basis. Yes I know that we have fared pretty good against NO. However I am talking about the ability to dominate the top passing offenses.

Seattle's secondary stellar.
