The entire NFL Insider club basically said Luke didn't deserve it, that others did more for their defense than Luke did. Said the same thing about Ron winning COTY, he didn't earn it.

Panthers get no respect. I hate it but at the same time, I like it. I'd rather them talk ish than give us constant praise and the players start thinking they are entitled like the Cowboys.

Otah was damn good when he played. He just lacked the motivation to come back from his series of injuries, so I don't think you could consider him a "miss".

 

Not sure if Otah's problem was his drive and motivation (to stay healthy and properly recover) or if his knees just were swiss cheese.

I think what experts get and the average fan doesn't is his smarts and leadership. You keep hearing about how he runs the defense so well and has a high football intelligence. Add to that the stats and the defense overall and he is deserving.

They do and you are. Don't expect all fans of other teams to agree with him as DPOY, or even a top rate LB. You can find negative opinions on any and every starter in the league. Doesn't mean that's the consensus.

He doesnt get the attention others like sherman do because he is humble. If he had Shermans attitude and was that type of quote machine you dont think he would be a bigger name than he is right now?

I was responding to "negative perception". That usually means people think he's a jerk. If you're defining "negative perception" as 'the half assed football fans don't know who he is because he's humble', then I could see the point, but that's a poor way, IMO, to define "negative perception", and those who vote on awards sure as hell know who Luke is.

The problem is that Levonte David hasn't received any recognition. He was left out of the pro bowl and I'm sure he wasn't even mentioned tonight. Those are the two best linebackers in the game right now. Bowman and his band of thugs can go fug themselves and the refs they rode in with.

 

Yea that SF LB core is really overrated. The refs let them ride PI calls all the way to the champ game because they were a drama team. Bunch of whinny bitches.
