Yeah, it's without question that this guy knows what he's doing.  Not saying that every decision he makes is perfect, but he's a pro.

I don't agree with everything he does but he does have a plan and is working his plan. i think that is half the battle. Organize and move forward.

Cam was on Brandon, Tiki and Dana (CBS radio) this morning and was raving about Gettleman. One thing that was interesting is he referenced not only Gettleman's personell moves but what he does to motivate them in game preparation with power point presentations each week. I don't know what kind of power point presentaions he is showing them each week but I wasn't aware GM's get involved much in gameday prep if that is what it is.

This is what I always wanted, knew with Gettleman coming to Carolina: That he could help Ron Rivera, who wasn't the best game coach is first two years....It appears he has, based off what you're saying (based of Cam)??

I know this doesn't sound quite right. But...I am so glad Gman never got his GM job until now. Just happy as punch so many teams passed on him. He has changed the culture up in here almost from day 1.

Also glad to here that so many of my fellow Huddlerz are enamored with him as well. I hate when I love something and have to put up with all the herp derp he sucks comments.

Hadn't thought about until it was brought up. But...is there more than one of him? He/they seem to be everywhere, doing several things at once, and keeping everyone happy. Good times, yup, good times.

You could apply that same comment to Rivera. He was passed up on numerous times also.

That's the first thing I thought of when talking about the need for a blocking tight end. Austin S-J is so much more than a blocking tight end and would also be a massive target for Cam in the passing game. Red Zone efficiency would improve with him lined up in the offense without a doubt.

He is a stud, but would cost us the first rounder.  I think he would be worth it for reasons you give.

The others who might fit the profile and would be available later (guessing rounds each will be drafted):

Niklas, Notre Dame (2)

Fiedorowicz, Iowa (3)

Lynch, UGA (4)

Pederson, Wisconsin (5)

Crockett Gilmore, Colo St (6)

I like the Niklas, he is about 6'6" and 270.  I see him on this team.   But if you want to wait, Pederson is a solid blocking TE who had over 300 yards in receiving.  Gilmore had a very nice Senior Bowl after being a late ediition.  Known for blocking, he had some nice catches up the seam.

i like feidorowicz. great blocker. big target of a receiver with good hands and nice catching radius. not a great athlete, but he's got good speed and very powerful and a big bully as a blocker and a pass catcher.

i think he fits the bill as a blocking TE who can be very useful in getting first downs and providing a big threat in the end zone.

really nice write up on him here: http://draftfalcons.com/2014-nfl-draft-scouting-report-c-j-fiedorowicz-te-iowa/

the  best thing is that he could probably be had in the third or fourth rounds.

This was my first time watching him.  Autsin Jenkins looks really good.  Jimmy Graham/Gronk 2.0. I wouldn't be mad if we got him. Pats fans are salivating over this guy as well. They want to return to the 2 TE set.

And that video doesn't even show the animal he is as a blocker as well. NO doubt that Buffalo takes Luke in 2012 at #10 if we don't take at #9, and NO doubt that the saints take Star at #15 if we don't take at #14 (fat chance). On February 1, 2014, it feels oh so good to be picking ahead of the Patriots because there's NO doubt in my mind they will take if we don't. I just hope he's still on the board as many are currently predicting. One mock even has him going to the saints at #27. Ewwww. Fortunately I don't see it.
