It was in historic downtown though.  I'm next to Chippewa (Forrest Gump square) and it was about 2 blocks away.  

 

I've looked through local news and haven't found anything but the tenants in my building were all talking about it today.

A lot of ghosts down there. Maybe it was a ghost. Panthro used to have a group that would investigate such things. I think the acronym for his group was F.A.R.T. or something like that.

I found out what it was:

 

They were filming a movie/show where Santa was flying at night on his sleigh and needed to maximize the light coming from above.  

 

That had to be the brightest damn light I've ever seen.
