Nothing against Papa Johns Pizzas but I am getting a tired of Peyton Manning and all those corny Papa John's commericials everytime I turn on the tv. Enough already.

 

 

Out of all the national chain pizza placed - Papa Johns is the best. There's a commercial on for PJs right now as I'm typing this lol...but do some research on Papa John and find out how much of a dickhead he is to his employees. I don't know if he's as bad as the Jimmy Johns guy, but he's up there. I feel guilty eating at Papa Johns because I don't approve of the way he allegedely treats his employees but when it comes down to it, it's the best/freshest chain pizza and usually around $10. 

 

Dominoes is decent/average - but you can usually get a solid pepperoni pizza for $5 pick up. 

 

Pizza Hut is for people who like greasy, greasy doughy pizza. I don't care for it but some people do. My good friend and ex roomie fuging loves pizza hut. deep dish sausage...the greasier the better. he loved it but I sure as hell don't. 

 

there's a JETS pizza up the street from my house that we hit up from time to time. It's ok.

I spent two summers in NYC during college. In my opinion, the pizza up there isn't what it's hyped up to be. I ate ate dozens of different places in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, from pizza stands, famous pizzerias, to hole in the wall joints raved by locals.

To me it was nothing more than overpriced, glorified thin crust pizza you can get anywhere.

The only "local specialty" I've had that was worth the hype was Philly cheese steaks. Sweet mother of Mary those things are delicious.

Pizza peel is ok. I'm more into the trendy pizzas so brixx and mellow and homemade are more my style. Have any of you tried the Rusty Onion off 51? Has just as good beer selection as pizza peel but I think the pizza is easily better.

ahh I remember delivering pizza's in high school for cash. I was lucky to be in the southpark neighborhoods. I remember when the cook who was on acid asked me if he had mistakenly put wax on a pizza I had to deliver. . " No bra. . its cheese, we're good"

I have been sick twice off of pizza. . both times off Papa Johns sausage pizza's. . I will never eat that poo again.

The best pizza I've had in Charlotte is Luisa's in Montford.  Although I haven't been to Luigi's or Tony's, I'll have to give them a try next time I'm on the edge of town on 485.
