Lets get to know: Allen Robinson

He's going to make a great #2 for someone. You need to be special in the speed and/or size department to be a #1. He lacks speed and is average size. If he proves he has speed then he'll be worth it but I see him as a 4.55 guy. He'll be a high 2nd round pick. Maybe a late 1st for a team like Denver who could lose Decker.

lol he outclassess Matthews in all those areas. This is a terrible post.

The fact that he's a bigger bodied explosive guy is exactly why he is so much more enticing than Matthews.

I never said anything about Matthews? I don't dislike Robinson but IMO he's just doesn't look like a #1. He looks like a great #2. But if I'm counting on you to be my #1 I want special size, special speed, or both. IMO he's very good in both but not special. IMO the guys who have special characteristics in this draft are Watkins and Evans...and that's it. Benjamin and Robinson left a lot to be desired. I think both could work here but neither will be BPA when we draft.

That said..I wouldn't be disappointed with either simply bc of where we pick and what we need. They have potential but something about them just doesn't scream #1.

I just don't see what about his measurables a lead you to believe they are average and that his ceiling is. You aren't going to find 6'5" 230 lb WRs in the draft but once a decade and your arent ever going to find them at 28. It doesn't mean that you don't pull the trigger on other prospects because they lack that and it doesn't mean that the players who don't have those measurables aren't just as likely to become quality players.

Why is this such a persistent recurring theme on this website every year? Not every player you draft is going to be an elite sure fire prospect who changes the way the game is played with some rare skills combination, it is okay to just pick a good prospect.

Instead every year we have people spouting "he just isn't worth it! We didn't get one of the top 5 prospects so the only option Is to trade down!!!! That's the smart thing to do!"

You're probably right. But if we've noticed anything about our franchise QB it's that he's 6'5" and he doesn't exactly throw the ball low. That's why I'm more inclined to go with a guy like Evans (if we trade Hardy and get another 1st). Benjamin would also be an option tho I'm not completely sold on him either. I'm not saying Robinson isn't a very good player (see my other posts) but is he worth taking instead of signing Nicks? That's probably the either/or in this situation. Not to mention there will probably be some very inticing DBs on the board as well. I thi k were in a good position tho...just not the position where I'm saying "we're definitely drafting our future #1 this year."
