Bobcats to Be Buyers at the Trade Deadline

Saw this last night but couldn't post it from my phone...

But, I almost swung a deal for Shumpert and Carmelo on NBA2k14 last night, lol.  They weren't budging on Melo, saw I pulled the Bucks into the deal to absorb some of the excess salary to swing Shumpert.

Bobcats out:

Gerald Henderson (to NYK)

Ramon Sessions (to MIL)

2015 first round pick (to NYK)

Knicks out:

Shumpert (to CHA)

Andrea Barngani (to MIL)

2015 first round pick (to CHA)

Bucks out:

Illyasova (to NYK)

A man can dream can't he?

And I held onto BG for a possible bigger move down the road.  That contract is gold.

At least you did send Bargs somewhere else.

MJ/Cho just don't get it. If they trade away any picks in 2014, I give up. What's the point in making the playoffs? We have no chance to win a series. We have no star power. We make the playoffs because all the other GMs are in tank/rebuild mode. The East is terrible. A playoff team could have a losing record.

Kyrie HURTing reportedly wants out of Cleveland. I don't want him, but the Cavs would be smart to dump him for some picks. Some team would likely give them 2-3 first rounders for him.

Kyrie is one of the more overrated players in the league. Kemba lit him up twice this season.

Kyrie (21yo)-- 21 ppg, 3 rpg, 6 apg

Kemba (23yo)-- 19 ppg, 4 rpg, 5 apg

One is injury prone, yet talked about as one of the bright young superstars in the league.

The other is mostly forgotten nationally and underappreciated locally.

Yeah because everyone knows we are the best team ever at drafting players

This isn't the NFL where you get a very good player every single year no matter where you draft. In the NFL a first round pick is very valuable because it's a guaranteed starter and very likely a Pro Bowl level talent. The NBA is different.

Hell, the #1 pick is never even a sure thing. It's pure luck. Unless you get a top pick when a LeBron/Durant type player comes out you are just going to get lucky and pick a guy that turns into a star or quality starter.

If you can get a very good player for a 1st rd pick, especially when you still have 1-2 additional 1st rd picks, pull the trigger. You get a proven quality player. Anyone drafted where the Bobcats will be picking is a complete crap shoot.

Franchise sucks at drafting. What's the alternative? Team changing free agents won't come here. The top guys tend to group up on big market teams. Sure we can piece together a squad good enough to make the playoffs in the East since its terrible but to only get swept out. That choice seals our Doom IMO. We have to overpay to get decent guys. Making the playoffs means we don't have a chance to draft a franchise player. Our only chance is to hit on a few guys in the draft and retain them. Wiggins, Parker, Randel, Embiid, are potential franchise guys. Then you have Exum, Smart, PJ, and several others that have a chance to be great. We could have started the new Hornets era with an exciting team full of talent if we had those 3 1sts.

"According to a source, the Lakers, Wizards and Bobcats have each inquired about Gibson, but they were preliminary talks in which the Bulls did not like the return." - Joe Cowley

"The Josh Smith experiment in Detroit is not going well, and there’s strong opinion around the league that the Pistons would trade him if they could — and “could” is the key word. Since Smith is in the first year of a four-year, $56 million deal, he is one of the most untradable players in the league."

* Smith to the Bobcats for Ben Gordon (expiring contract)

Said it before, I dont get the hype with Irving. Hes not a top 10 PG in my book. Done less with better talents around him compared to Kemba (more with less talents).

Kyrie Irving makes two people look good on the basketball court:

-Kyrie Irving

-whoever is being guarded by Kyrie Irving
