While we're all coming to terms with "cap hell"...

Recommended Posts

Next season, Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith, and DeMarco Murray are all going to be unrestricted FAs. If all 3 played just as well/better as they did last season, it will be interesting/hilarious to see how they are going to sign all 3 since they'll most likely still be in cap hell.

Most of the teams(Dallas and NO) in cap hell are spending a huge amount on their QB's.

We are in cap hell and our QB is not even signed from his rookie deal yet.  So, I think we don't have a ton of room to crow yet

By the time Cam's contract is up, we will or at least can be rid of a lot of the albatross contracts that are dragging us into cap hell(Godfrey, Stewart, D. Williams), but at the same time we'll have to replace high contract-high value players (Gross, Steve Smith).

This team can't become elite until those overpaid contracts are off our books! you can only upgrade the the team speculatively rather than whole heartily whilst being strapped by those contracts, for me if we can just go about the next two offseasons like we did last year then we will be competitive stil, albeit with cheaper lower tiered free agents and drafting well, this team is going in the right direction, this offseason I think things are going to happen that many will dislike but do we want a sustainable success or an instant quick hit that fades out in a few seasons, gettleman is building us for a decade not a few seasons.

It's not like our Jerry didn't play a huge part in our crippling contracts. Those two are best buds for a reason.

Cmon man don't compare the two.  Richardson was smart enough to hire a guy like Gettleman to fix those problems!  Jones is still...well...

I still think it's funny that Jerry Jones seriously considered taking over as HC when he fired Jimmy Johnson... BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA

Eventually he came to his senses and hired Barry Switzer... BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Then, realizing he made a dynasty killing mistake he attempted to get things back on track by hiring Chan Gailey and Dave Campo. (insert more raucous laughter here)

He finally brought in Parcells, who started to turn things around - but there wasn't enough room left for Jerry Jones ego so he fired that loser and brought in Wade Phillips and eventually his own personal gimp, Jason Garrett.

Cam's cap hit in 2014 is already 7 million.  We can sign him long term for no more than that in 2014.  Remember that Flacco got 120 million in 2013 but his cap hit was 6.8 million.  In 2014 it is 14.8 million and goes up from there.

And we are not in cap hell compared to Dallas or NO.

We went from 15 million over the cap to 12 million under the cap while upgrading several positions  and only getting rid  of 1 good vet in Gamble.  We will have that 12 million to roll over plus we are currently under the cap another 7 million.  If you combine the 2 that is 20 million plus another 5 if we get rid of Godfrey.  That is 25 million which is surely not cap hell.  We can keep Hardy, sign guys like Ginn for a longer contract and still fill in with free agents who will want to be here.

And once the dead money contracts go away we will be in better shape.

Jones definitely believes in having someone in charge who's smart enough to properly manage a team.

The problem is that he believes it's him :(
