Rivera signs 3 year contract extension

Gettleman is no idiot and his fingerprints are all over this.  If we drop to 10-6 next year it will have a lot to do with 21 FA's not Ron's HC ability.  I have said it early and often...I was WRONG about Ron Rivera.  We will make much noise between now and 2017.

Congrats to Chico.

3 year extension based on this season, where Tampa and Atlanta were both pure crap was a very poor decision.

Sorry guys much as Id like RR to suceed Im not buying in to him yet as a HC. We got some very lucky breaks this year that won us games,  had not a damn thing to do with RR and his coaching decisions.

I guess JR could get rid of him if need be if he lets us down a couple of  seasons prior to the end of his contract.

Oh wait - JR doesnt do that.

Denver, Kansas City, San Diego and Oakland. I'll give you Oakland.

Funny part is you just proved why Rivera only deserved a 1 year extension. Atlanta and Tampa were two of worst teams I've seen since the 2-14 Panthers.

This smells like Alice.

Wait... he said we finished last in the division in 2011?

Definitely Alice.

All I'm saying is why jump the gun?!? What has he proved?!?

because if you extend him only 2 years and he has a good year next year you HAVE to extend him again, and this time he'll cost EVEN MORE

you can't leave a coach on a lame duck contract - you can't.  it's an insult to the coach and it sends a message to the players that that dude, fug him, he might not be back

Falcons and Bucs were 4-12.

We only beat 4 teams with a winning record....so....we actually played a very weak schedule.

Wake up.

yes, and the magical john fox 2011 season you keep bringing up... the geldings beat the 9-7 bengals, who were starting a rookie qb.

they beat a single winning team.

But the Panthers winning four isn't good enough

Jeez the idiots on this forum.
