WR at 28 Question

Let's say the top-5/or guys talked about a lot are gone by 28:

Watkins, Evans, Benjamin, Matthews, and Lee

This can definitely happen imo because you have the Lions, Jets, Ravens, Colts, Redskins (if they trade into R1), and Chiefs at the very least who need wideouts pretty bad (albeit a few worse than others so they may not all necessarily take a WR).  Also, there's more than one wideout needy team past us that could trade up for someone.

Now out of the remaining crop, would you take any at 28?

Most notables:

Allen Robinson

Odell Beckham Jr.

Brandin Cooks

I know it's dependent on what other guys are available but would you be content with any of those three at 28?

Not asking if you'd take them over an available CB, OL, or whatnot but if you would take a wideout outside that top-5 at 28.

Beckham Jr. and Cooks I would strongly consider. Would depend on how the rest of the board fell. I would go Beckham Jr before Cooks. He plays big despite only being 6'. High points the ball great. Has more than enough speed to be a deep threat, and gives you production as a returner as well. Not to mention his hands can engulf footballs and his catch radius is insane for a guy who's not 6'3 +.

Not a fan of Robinson in rd 1. He doesn't stand out enough in any area of his game to be a building block for an offense imo.

I've really warmed up to OBJ recently.  Think he'd be a great addition.

His best plays are coming up or deep for those long balls and he can really outplay CBs on the physical side of things.  Also, he doesn't seem to give up if a play is extended.  Those type of strengths fit well with Cam.

My favorite is Robinson of those 3.

I really want to like Robinson and I'm likely missing something because scouts and a lot of people like him...but nothing jumps out to me.  He body catches a ton and kinda reminds me of Carlton Mitchell from a few years back.

I've seen some nice highlights however so am not completely dissing him.

i would have to go with Odell all the way. they guy had over 1000 yards WR, and over 2000 all purpose yards. Cordarrelle Patterson didnt have that many yards last year, and he went 28 to the vikings. he had a huge impact for them as well, returning kicks, running the ball, and playing WR. Odell plays larger then his 6'0 height, has huge hands to catch away from his body, vertical speed and YAC ability.

another name not being mentioned is Davante Adams from Fresno St who could have a late 1st round grade.

Of those? Probably Robinson, though OBJ is growing on me. I also really like Abbrederis and Moncrief if those other guys are gone.

I don't know if I'd take all of them at 28, but there's about a dozen really good prospects in the first two rounds.

I doubt five go before 28, and I'm sure a few of those dozen or so will still be there at 60.

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
