Unfortunately, that's the way it goes. 90% of the time, if you want a stud like Gordon you'll have to accept the baggage he brings into the NFL. The Fitzgeralds, Calvins, Greens, etc don't make it past 10 picks.

Well to be fair, there's baggage and there's baggage.

Diva baggage isn't on the same level as criminal baggage.

I LOVED how our Cats performed during the PB! One of the real joys this season has been watching Tolbert bulldoze the guys trying to stop him, and I laughed my butt off when Keek got a taste of that medicine (and kudos to Keek for sticking with the tackle despite the collision). All in all, a good viewing experience!

What is this about Tolbert mocking Cam, lol it's respect between two teammates. Proud of Big Mike.

I forgot this was even on last night, just caught the highlights, doesn't look like I missed a whole lot.

Trash talk between teammates goes on all the time, and the format of this game played into that.

Not sure why anyone would have an issue with it.

Pass rushers in the NFL today are just freaks. Its a wide gap between them an OL talent and its only get wider.

valid and it may very well be a stronger and more effective counter to the passing game which im sure disturbs roger goodell to his core.

some significant rule changes to stop DLs from preventing QBs from scoring lots of points and making roger goodell lots of money would not surprise me in the slightest.

i wouldnt even be shocked if the blitz was forbidden and the amount of pass rushers you are allowed to send is limited. all under the guise of safety of course but I have absolutely no doubt that Goodell doesnt appreciate how this tomfoolery could affect his bottom line.

man is the worst thing to happen to pro football

We should have given our second and a fourth for Gordon when we had the chance

there never was this chance.

people made it up after pretending like Cleveland was having a firesale when they traded away a guy who was one of the worst RBs in the league this year for a 1st rounder.

I think you're probably hearing them just fine

It's outside and there are certain things to be expected from an outdoor arena especially when you try to play in the middle of it, but they (the board operator) straight up forgot to tune in the B audio for maybe the first 20-30 seconds of the song, and when they finally did it was no where near where it should have been. I'm not saying you have to like the band I honestly could care less about the band, just as someone who's ran a board before it was like watching someone fall down 12 flights of stairs and die from a painful death, just dreadful.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
