Assuming Cleveland takes Benjamin or Robinson, will the left over player be BPA at 28? Picking so late in a round leaves us having to reach if we want a WR IMO. I think there will be a huge run at WR between our first and second pick. Anyone with legit 2 round grade will be gone by our second pick.

Perhaps. I suppose there could be a run on receivers, but I would think that some teams have bigger needs. I am not worried about a run in the second at the moment (meaning I could change), but I will be concerned if we don't pick up a receiver with our first or second pick. I am not going to put too much stock into grading out WRs outside of the first round (and maybe not even then), especially since the draft is so deep.  I mean, really, what is a "legit 2 round grade"?  Keenan Allen (though perceived by many as damaged goods) was drafted in the third round. T.Y. Hilton was drafted in the third round.  And that's just a couple. You can get a very nice receiver in the third round if you're on your game.

I see some interesting names projected to go in rounds three and four on some sites' projections. Names like: Jordan Matthews, Brandon Coleman, Donte Moncrief, Devin Street, Martavis Bryant, and some others. So though i will be disappointed if we don't get a WR in round 1, probably beside myself after round 2, as long as we address the need in round 3 I may not go postal (especially depending upon whom we pick up in FA).

BPA should be the pick, but this guy is really starting to grow on me, and could be BPA. everything i have read said he has a late 1st-2nd round ground so he could be BPA.

Would love to have OBJ. You can just tell by watching cut ups that the kids an athlete. Great body control, good hands, very smooth runner.

I was editing my post while you were typing and said names of WR's I thought would go. I didn't rank them in any order but I put Beckham's name first because he came to mind first. It's obvious people have issues catching Cam's fastball. Gman needs to draft sure handed WR's. I would love a combo of OBJ and Hoffman in the 3rd or 4th if available. OBJ does drop the ball but he has so much natural talent that I think he can improve that.

I hope OBJ measures in at 6'. I have seen 6' and 5'11" so I'm sure he'll be a tad under. But he has a great frame and looks like he wouldn't have an issue with adding some muscles if needed.

For all those WRs to go in round two would be unprecedented, I do believe. That ain't happening.

We haven't even mentioned Abbrederis, Cooks, Davante Adams or Mike Davis in this thread. The class is deep, and there's no telling who is going to rise to the occasion.

If I could get Coleman, Moncrief, or Street in rounds 3-6, after taking a a shutdown corner and quality O-lineman in rounds 1 and 2, I couldn't argue with that.

I'll only be happy if we get someone with number 1 potential. Moncrief and Adams are the only two you mentioned that I believe could be number 1's. I can't imagine Moncrief or Adams being there when we draft in third since we draft near the bottom.

You are sleeping on Brandon Coleman, big time.

I think that a lot of people are sleeping on Devin Street also.

There's always that one or two that take the league by surprise (but really shouldn't).

part 3 is up, and it is about drafting philosophy.

So that's what you were talking about. I couldn't find it.  Thanks for bringing it up. I wish that I could have found it before the other thread. Next time give me a link. Check out the additional commentary in my OP.

I agree with what you said in your OP about his old school conservative thinking. im not a fan of it, and it is dishearten considering how teams build their rosters around the QB. I just don't understand why he thinks like that, when he was apart of a Giants squad that invested in the position early and often.it makes me think how much input did he have on the Nicks pick, or Randle pick. I know he didn't do much college scouting anymore, unless it was early round guys, but still.

based off past drafts, BPA could very well be WR at 28.
