Ben Gordon redux IMO.

Had trouble stopping penetration and defending pick and roll at UNC. Have to do both in NBA.

He played PF at UNC.

Only for a short time, he is a wing and he had to play PF for the aforementioned reasons.

All UNC fans were wondering why he wasn't starting. That is why.

He played PF because Carolina had a log jam at guard. Four of the teams top five players were all two guards; Strickland, McDonald, Bullock, and Hairston. Those four started along with James Michael McAdoo. Hairston played the four because he was the only one tough enough to handle it, and he did a damn good job considering his height.

He was by far the best two guard on the team his freshman and sophomore years. Outside of Barnes he was always the best player on the team. That's why people were so mad at Roy for leaving him buried on the bench most of the season.

Now that all this crap has surfaced it's clear why Roy did the things he did. It had absolutely nothing to do with PJ's abilities. PJ was immature and making poor decisions off the court. Roy absolutely did the right thing.

PJ is an elite prospect and is a scoring machine. He can stroke the three ball as good as anybody and, unlike most jump shooting two guards, he has a large, muscular frame and will give the ball inside and finish. He's a very, very physical and tenacious guard, especially for a spot up shooter. His defense is not bad. He has good quickness, hustles and plays hard.

As long as he learns from his mistakes at UNC and matures, PJ will be a stud in the NBA.

It was because he couldn't defend on the perimeter.

He struggled mightily at stopping dribble penetration or defending the pick and roll.

Teams would attack PJ whenever he was on the game and force him to defend. That is why he wasn't getting run. Strickland and Bullock were both much better on defense.

Playing him at the 4 kept him from having to do that. Which us why he eventially played the 4.

That is not to say he has not gotten better since last season, but I would have to see him play. If his defense isn't any better Clifford won't play him much either.

I think the Hornets should at least bring him in for a pre-draft workout and see where his head is at and make sure it's on straight. My best guess is early second round.

Nah!! He will be a 1st round pick for sure. Specially after the combine. We need to hope he doesn't rise out of our range.
