Cam Newton 2014 Pro-Bowl

Just wondering if he is moving back because of Pagano or other reasons.  Hangover from last season?

Then there’s this recent assessment from former 49ers long snapper Brian Jennings regarding Newton’s debut:  “We have Drew Brees with his playbook all week, studying. . . .  We have Cam Newton with his head phones on all week goofing off. . . .  We go into the game, and this guy is chucking the ball all over the place, and everybody is looking around going, ‘What’s this guy doing? Are you kidding?’ . . .  He went in there and stank it up.”

Newton now has a reason to prove Pagano wrong for picking Luck, similar to the way Newton proved people wrong all year long.  And we all now have a reason to watch and see what Luck and Newton can do.

Yeah, it'd be nice if we could send Cam out as a WR or TE every now and then to keep defenses on their heels but there are plenty of defenders begging to land a clean shot on him. No way. Leave that stuff for the Pro-Bowl. Peterson is a stud DB but the hopes of an entire franchise don't ride on his shoulders. The Cardinals can afford to gamble, we can't. Newton is our franchise QB. We lose him, we go 2-14 or 3-13.

Newton's, not only the "Franchise QB", but he's also/almost the entire offense. Lol

There a lot of Franchise QB's that can be replaced, and their teams probably won't miss a blip, and/or not have as far a drop off.

I tend to believe that both Cam and the defense is the reason we went 12-4. When looking back, there were times that the defense bailed Cam out and there were moments where Cam bailed out the defense. It was a total team effort. That said, we could end up going 7-9 with just our front seven like The Cardinals but we don't have a Fitzgerald that can aid any average QB.

I don't think any Panther fans, even the "Cam Hater" versions would say that any other QB could lead this team to a 12-4 record off the defense. Even they are not that stupid. They watched the games, just like us......No. They like to nitpick so they don't look like complete tools. Lol

That type of "ish" more comes from select outsiders parroting media memes, or those with an agenda.

Doesn't the Texans supposedly have a great D with JJ Waaaatt and a lot of great players on offense and the weakest division in football? I'm not following this great Panther D nonsense when NE was moving the ball with ease on them. We won a lot because the offense controlled the clock and momentum of the game. We were one of the best redzone team in the league and the D was on the sideline for those times. Not that the D didn't play a role.

U know you need to stop bring reality to the forefront. Folks like to simply believe everything they are told. U should know that by now. :)

Is there a reason why he's a former 49er? And let me guess, he is w....Oh never mind. It's has become more than obvious what is intentionally being done to Cam by a certain group of people both in and out of the media. Going out and finding someone..anyone, who will give a negative soundbite on Cam and having the usual suspects run with it as proof that Cam is EXACTLY how the media has painted him, is getting quite boring now. That seems to have been the norm when it comes to this kid, since ESPN tried to create a false pay-for-play scandal with him and his father.

Glad to see ONE person gets to speak for Cam and us idiots are to simply accept it as such. I guess it's just like the media  going out and getting ONE person to rain down praises on Luck and we're to take that to mean he's the best thing since Jesus.

I agree with your post, except the "W" part. That's more an issue with some media and fans than actual players (I would think).

That Long Snapper was just stupid. And yes, he may have an axe to grind with Cam for what ever reason; maybe even yours. I'm just saying, it's not an automatic just because he was "W (come on now)", especially as a player.

I don't think people understand what it means to be as athletic as Cam. Maybe only two guys can relate, Calvin and Lebron.

I think they do, and that is why the media is trying to convince everyone that Luck, their Chosen One, is just as good, if not better than Cam or any of the other QBs not named Peyton, Brady, or Brees, and maybe even Rogers. By not only always placing Luck first in everything involving these QBs, but having him steal some of Cam's athleticism by alway placing them both in the same athletic and talented conversation, those in the media are doing their part to convince the masses that Luck is just as good, if not more equal to Cam because he's intentionally not being as openly scrutinized as Cam

The Alpha Male struggle could not be more obvious than what is gong on with Cam and the protectors of the "Traditional QB" image in today's media. But judging by the attitude of the many NFL fans, it's quite okay.

And you got to love how those in the media go out of their way to paint Cam as such a ego driven kid, and always publically knocking him down a few pegs with tons of falsehoods is always a good thing. In the meantime, all they have been doing is stroking Luck's ego with just as much falsehoods.

We won't talk about what sort of psychological message that continues to send. That's for another day. :)

U might be right. But the media knows that they will get  players like that kicker to go along with their painting of Cam's image a lot more than with the other players. It's clear to see that Cam gets under the skin of 99.9% of those who share that kicker's image, more so than anyone else. And that may be because everyone else don't see Cam as separate from themselves. They see him as their own son. They understand he is growing and learning and isn't as critical of him as those in the media want them to be. They also understand he's a big kid at heart and his cockiness is simply part of who he is.

We have got to stop running from the pink elephant that still sits not only in this society but is endlessly used by the media. It is blatantly played out in today's media and we simply rationalize it away. The more we search for other reasons and rationale while avoiding the obvious, the more we make their jobs easy. It's very easy to do what the media is doing with Cam. They doing quite often to certain players in the NFL. The majority of them of Cam's persuasion.

@FootballAlias I have no problem calling out racism, and/or "W" people when I see it. However, you asking was the Long Snapper "W" is taking it to the extreme. There have been black players and analyst that have criticized Cam (whether right or wrong), and some white ones that have been his biggest supporters. Nonetheless, I think you did yourself and the Long Snapper a disservice with your attempt at guilt by association (unless you know something you're not saying).
