NFL Commish now considering Marijuana or it's street name "pot", to be used by NFL players who have concussions

Idk about you but I know far more people addicted to marijuana than alchohol. Can't even stop smoking for just one week in order to pass a drug screen for a job that THEY want. That's bad

In order to make this a logical comparison, wouldn't you need the same number of people to be required to stop drinking for a week to pass an alcohol drug test?

It doesn't seem like a very good claim to make when there are basically 0 people ever required to stop drinking for a pre-employment drug test.

Funniest part is I live in the most culturally diverse city in the the US for the last 8 years and work with people from all over the world, not to mention I'm married to a South American woman.  Maybe you should get out of your little sandbox and lighten up a bit.

You are so eager to defend a guy who embarrassed himself, his team and his city because you think the word thug is a racial slur.....well it's not...just because Sherman wants it to be doesn't mean it is.

Full Definition of THUG

:  a brutal ruffian or assassin :  gangstertough

I don't see a racial slur anywhere in Websters definition.

and by that definition Sherman doesn't fit...so thug still isn't the correct word to describe his behavior on tv...

He isn't brutal (which is defined as "savagely violent") nor a ruffian (which is defined as a violent person, esp. one involved in crime.)

He played a game, by the rules and doesn't get involved in criminal acts off the field, so nowhere does he fit that definition

What he did was say hes the best, called someone else sorry and yelled in a camera, none of that violent or a crime...

He was arrogant, belittling and loud...that's pretty much it

There have been a numbers of studies which point out the efficacy of various forms of THC to reduce neuropathy pain, cancer induced anorexia and helping those who can't take opiod based pain medication. Medical marijuana controlled by doctors is a no brainer really,  But for legalizing it for everyone, there should be controls.  I would like to see it be regulated like alcohol. Age limit and consequences for selling to kids but not illegal to adults.  Tax the fool out of it and pay for treatment and any health issues that might arise and use the rest for education.

Allow some home manufacturing for personal use like there is for beer, wine and liquor right now. No growing to sell it to others unless you form a coop or other regulated structure.  Seems if the state would get involved to regulate it and make money off of it instead of spent so much money to try and stop it, it would be a win-win.

People who use drugs are trash but marijuana is no different than alcohol and cigarettes. Then again many alcoholics destroy their own families with abuse and kill innocent people by driving under the influence. And cigarettes are self-destructive as well given all the health problems they cause later in life.

If people want to be idiots they have a liberty and god-given right to do that.

But there are also employer rights. I remember a guy from Real Madrid soccer team was suspended after being recorded by paparazzi smoking a cigarette. Cigarettes are said to negatively affect stamina. Aldon Smith went to rehab for his alcohol issues. Strip clubs are legal but many NFL players have destroyed their careers by going to them.

Marijuana will be similar if it's ever legal everywhere. It'll still remain shrouded in evil. Violent criminals and rapists will still be found in possession of marijuana as they always have been and always will.

People need to look to themselves to avoid trashy cultures and trashy people. Don't need the government to do it for us.

Marijuana does none of those things...and has proven medical benefits which is why its medically legal in a lot of states

And just because people are caught with it in the commission of other crimes wont be as big of a deal if and when it is legal everywhere because those crimes were going on beforehand and will still be going on after regardless of whats in a rapists pocket...they don't blame condoms nor tobacco...

You have to wonder how much propaganda has been instilled into the older generations about Cannabis. Let's be damn honest after all, the reason why weed was banned in the first place was horsecrap. Doctors and medical scholars speak of cognitive function loss (such as short-term memory) being associated with it but what about humans spending 7-8 hours a day in a laptop and phone?

The only reason Mary Jane will be legalized is for it's tax revenues.  The real crime are all the people serving life sentences due to the 3 strike rule who have been arrested with felony quantities of Mary Jane and now serve out the next 25 years in jail at the expense of the US citizen.

It's all a stupid revenue game.  By the way, buy MJNA stock.  I got it at .10 and .14....it's now worth .31 and going up.  It's a penny stock so pump it and dump it...don't sit on it by any means....if you make 15-20% dump and re buy later...

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
