Why did they change the rule about going out of bounds to stop the clock? It doesn't seem to stop the clock except for specific reasons now.

It's a game that's basically designed to mess around with the rules. That's the point; they can't try out some new rules during the regular season.

no i dont think they would possibly implement that rule change, it's absurd.  that doesnt discount the fact said they would consider it though.

2. After the two-minute warning of each quarter, if the offense does not gain at least one yard, the game clock will stop and not start again until the next snap.

 

I have always wished that this were the rule, at least for the fourth quarter.  I despise kneel downs.  I want to watch sixty minutes of football, not fifty eight minutes of football and two minutes of a QB falling to his knee as if he were proposing.  A great game should not end in such an anti-climatic way.
