I hope that you all realize that this is not a change on whether you are to pay tax on items purchased on the internet.  You have ALWAYS been required by law to declare your purchases and pay the tax on it.  The problem is that no one does...and they have no way to monitor it.

 

All they are doing is forcing the responsibility on the front-end of the transaction....instead of on the back-end.

Meh.  No big deal, really.  Especially when you consider the economic boost via taxes and jobs coming to N.C.

So to all who are unhappy with this:

 

I made an order of 5 different items from different departments at amazon.  Clicked "place my order" at 11:55 AM yesterday.  Payed around 6 dollars in tax for about an $85 purchase.  Selected "free shipping" (5-7 days).

 

Items shipped at 8:37 PM last night and now my order was delivered exactly 24 hours later at 11:55 AM today.

 

This is like having overnight shipping without having to pay for it.

They've been doing good about the prompt delivery.  I ordered some stuff a few weeks ago, selected "Free" shipping and had everything within 48 hrs.
