A Cap Question

When Hurney came aboard, this team went to the Super Bowl with players he did not pick on contracts he did not negotiate.  When he left, there were rumors that the team was going to LA after a 4-year losing streak.   Moose and Smitty were not his picks--name a WR he brought in through the draft or free agency that has worked out--Lafell?  His contracts were insane---Jake Delhomme, Godfrey, the RBs,--Hurney was terrible and was able to hide it until the players he did not sign or draft aged out.

He was OK at drafting (any of us could have done as well), but he drafted SAFE in the first round. When he started trading in the draft, he showed his ignorance.  The best GMs in the league feasted on his ignorance.

If I saw him tomorrow, I would tell him that he nearly ruined the team.

He was the teams cap guy from when he joined in 1998 and managed all the contracts and so forth by the team. He managed the cap, contracts and negotiations for both SD and Carolina. That's what's so funny about his horrible contracts, he was a cap specialist in SD and Carolina before he became a GM.

That's right---thanks for reminding me---I had forgotten.  I think he became insecure--or maybe, overconfident.
