When Did The Guy From Overhaulin Join NFL Network

So I spent the past 45 mins trying to figure out who that guy was on NFL Network as I have seen him before.  Heh turns out its Chris Jacobs from the show Overhaulin.  When did this guy join the show?  Thats a huge jump from classic cars to the NFL.
