you must be outside of your mind if you think halo 2 was bad it is the greatest multiplayer game of all time.

LMAO.... haha. Shoddy weapon design, shoddy vehicles, shoddy map designs = a very broken MP experience. (further on this if you click the link.)

If your talking multiplayer in general Starcraft blows it out of the water, if your talking about FPS then Counter-Strike blows it out of the water. That's just off the top of my head and both are far away better then Halo 2. Halo wasn't even the best game of that November.

The only thing that Halo has to it's name is that it was arguably the first console game to get multiplayer right, but it isn't nor will it ever be the greatest multiplayer game of all time. Halo 1, not 2. Halo 2 was a drastic drop off from the first Halo in every sense.

This is Halo 2 in a nut shell.

List the many numerous mp breaking features that Halo 2 had, it was all in all a very shitty MP experience. Console players thought it was gold because they didn't know better.

Halo 2 was better than h3 in multiple and hands down far and away better than reach. Reach is regarded as the worst halo mp game out of the 5. The bloom along with the sprint jet pack armor abilities and instant spawn made it to much like cod. Which isn't halo at all

regarded by whom?

Pretty sure I stated "I thought..." as in, my opinion because *I* was the one who felt H2 was incomplete and buggy.

I prefer the Forge because many of H2's maps were completely unbalanced with weapons. Everyone made a mad dash to the energy sword at the beginning of each game. Better hope that someone on the same team didn't also grab the shotgun since it's basically the only close quarters weapon that gave you a chance. Being most maps had only one of each, or one or the other, the team who gets them first dominated. Don't worry about ammo with the weapons switch glitch.

It wasn't incomplete, nor all that extremely buggy. It was just poorly designed from the ground up. lol The mp was horrendous with numerous design problems. The Spawn system, map design, weapon design, vehicle deisgn and the matchmaking system were all poorly done. I believe that covers the gamut of a MP experience.

While the single player experience was meant to end on a cliffhanger in Halo 2 to build excitement for halo 3. With that said it wasn't all that enjoyable for me, I felt they spent too much time designing the horrible MP experience. I'm not sure how most didn't see or remember the press slamming Halo 2 and calling it's MP garbage when compared to PC MP experiences or the first Halo game.

What's sad about Halo 2 is the weapon and map system were by design because so many people complained about Halo: CE maps and weapon balance. Oddly enough it's Halo: CE that had nearly perfect balance with it's weapon and maps while Halo 2 was about as far from balanced as you could get when it came to the Weapons and Maps.

Ok First off your first 3 complaints listed are null and void, if you just want to blatant flame bait at least try and be original, like I haven't seen someone try and single out Halo before as a target (cue PSC entering the room and waving hi).

Halo wasn't the first Console FPS to get the Multiplayer right, it was just flat out the best thing going, now I'll be honest (unlike you) I never played a lot of CS but I was never much of a M/K person and always hated using them(I love RTS's but still hate keyboards as a method of control for a game) and only seldom played CS. but hey if you liked it that's fine, but saying Halo 2 was anything but one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time is doing nothing more then drinking the Hater aid hard.  I still find it funny how insulted PC gamers get just at the suggestion that consoles may have high quality games and even more so at that High Quality FPS games, I mean I recognize that PC's get them, but it's like there is some law against our games getting credit for being good.

example of this, all the hubbub over Half-life 2, I've played through Half-Life 2 twice, that btw is one more time then I played through the single player campaign for Halo 2, and honestly and full heartedly I liked the Portal(I loved the Portal games) games a lot more, and Halo 3 was a better game all around the HL2 and it's not close, I mean like you saying you like red balloons and I bring you a bag of very ill tempered sea turtles that begin to gnaw you feet off, the two are leagues apart and shouldn't be in the same room for discussion other then them being both FPS. now yes the PC nerds may say otherwise but IMHO thats the case.

now things I'm super jealous of PC gamers over, Skyrim and Oblivion mods, oh dear god what would I give for some of those things on a console but alas it is not meant to be.

Also your link is broken but not half as Bad as BF4(most broken game I've ever played)

Not even baiting. I played it a lot because of a roommate loving the game for some reason.

Everything I posted is a legit complaint about Halo 2, that's what the article was about as well. It was written when Halo 2 came out and talked about the faults with the game. The weapons were poorly balanced, plasma pistol anyone??? The maps were poorly designed around weapons that effectively ended the match and made one team more powerful and on top of that those weapons didn't respawn unless the weapon was dropped and sat for a while. Map controlling weapons that pretty much made most maps a dash for this weapon match, you got the weapon and the match was over 90% of the time. Dash maps aren't fun in no way shape or form.

Next because of the poor map design an weapon spawn system, vehicles and vehicle destroy weapons became over powered. Got the rocket launcher and vehicle, match is over.

Those three things combined made every single halo 2 map a dash game instead of a fps.

I'm sorry but that's poor design in a nutshell and was widely reported when the game released.

On top of all those serious faults was the poorly designed match making system. Host had way too much power with the way the system was designed, it unevened the odds to a horrible degree.

I'm sorry but those things added together made a horribly unbalanced fps mp game.

Don't even want to get started with bf4, lmao what a horribly glitchy game. It is however fun when you actually get to play.

You obviously never played MLG settings then. And it is regarded the best by the whole halo community and e sports. It lasts a very long time on the circuit even after h3 dropped.

If you played MLG or hardcore settings you started out with the br and the sword wasnt on the map. Most maps only had one power weapon so teams had to fight for map control to get it which made it much more competitive and well rounded.

I think we would have been good halo friends dex. I went to Philly in 05 meadowlands in 06 and dc in 11. Wbu?

Haha no poo! I was at the Meadowlands in 06 as well. Finished top 32 in the FFA but my team got matched up with Carbon early and lost in the 3rd round. Enjoyed beating xXx's team though. I was 15 and won a bunch of local tournaments and earned a sponsor for that tourney. They paid for me and my teammate's flights, hotel and entry fees. I play BF now. I was chosen to go to England for the Battlefield Showdown but didn't have my passport in time. So I'm still in the competitive scene. Played on the same team as COD's Crimsix at one point in BF3. You still play?

I think the problem here is you're a casual gamer while I'm a competitive gamer. H2 was a masterpiece in that regard. Went to multiple MLGs back in the day.

Not casual at all, halo 2 was poorly balanced and I couldn't get into it. I played the hell out of halo 1 though and as far as I'm concerned it's still the best one to be released. Heck I played halo 2 a lot, I just couldn't get into it like I did the first one.

It's major breaker for me was never fixed even in mlg settings. The power weapon respawn time and the op of vehicles and rl.

Maybe I was too old for halo 2's primitive systems when it released as I was 20. I still to this day can't understand why it ever got to mlg when there were much better mp games on the market.

How was it unbalanced? MLG rules were essentially BR for everyone and a sniper rifle... Maps like Lockout, Midship and Sanctuary were excellent... For 4v4 TS, CTF and Oddball it was incredible. That's why MLG picked it up. Things like the double shot and BXR were acceptable glitches because they took time and skill to perfect. You just sound like a hater bro.

If I'm a hater then so was Bungie. Lol

But I've explained how it was unbalanced, in multiple post already. Having to give each player the br and sniper to help cover up the fact it was poorly balanced shows just how unbalanced it was. MlG rules just covered up one of the many issues with the game. The power weapons were poorly implemented, they had no respawn times which made maps rush this point each and every match, not sure how many times I have to mention that one. In a nutshell, map designs and power weapons broke the game,

The rl was op as heck as well.

It should tell you something when the games developers slammed the game and admitted to messing halo 2 up. Even going as far as calling it unplayable for them because of how bad it was. lol

If you would like I can expand on some issues with the games animations as well like double grenades, instant kills with the br. Double fire, quick reload, double melee. Basically the animations were done in a way that they could be instantly canceled to allow players to do things that weren't supposed to be possible.

Just all in all a poorly done game that was never polished. Bungee admitted to this when they were making halo 3.

Haha damn crazy how life works like that. Me and my brothers made top 16 in Philly 05. I remember that being the first time str8 rippin beat final boss it was crazy. I think we made it top 64 in meadowlands. With a solid fourth we could have went further

You can post links, write as much as you want and come up with a million reasons to hate it. The fact remains it's one of the greatest FPS multiplayer experiences of all time. It sat on the MLG circuit for 5 years and was beloved by millions. I'm not even trying to be a fan boy here because I personally feel the Halo franchise multiplayer wise died after Halo 2. H1 & H2 were incredible games. As a competitive gamer (the old school Halo pros agree as well) I felt like they tried to do too much to improve upon an already exemplary franchise. Trying to balance weapons, increasing map size, adding in jets packs(etc.) and overall make the game easier for people. They wanted to even the playing field so the gap between competitive and casual could be bridged. It's a big reason the Halo franchise is dead in the competitive community today. DICE took a similar approach with BF4(it's also currently unplayable due to bugs). BC2 & BF3 were excellent games. Now BF4 feels again like they've bridged the gap by balancing guns, increasing map size etc. Doing too much is what is ruining these franchises.
