If Dwayne Jarrett blows up, can anyone stop our offense?

The Question

Recommended Posts

What signs are you referring to? I think there were a few glimmers of hope but the jury is still out. I feel optimistic about him but the phrase "Jarrett is a solid option" still ends with a ? rather than !.

I skulk around in the realm of reality. It is truely a lonely place

In my opinion it's just there for him, he's shown he can make challenging catches, doesn't drop balls, and when he was used he caught passes, not to mention the fact that he's the poo.

Jarrett's ability to make grabs has never been the question. It's getting seperation and/or using his body to shield defenders.

As I mentioned in my post above, Jarrett really needs to emulate Moose. Neither Moose or Jarrett are particularly fast and need to use good technique and their big bodies in order to get that seperation. Their size is also ideal to be a strong blocker and physical presence.

Jarrett has the perfect guy to learn from as he eventually replaces Moose on the team. This needs to be a breakout year given we never know how much longer Moose has left and desperately need someone to take the pressure off Smith.

I am as hopeful as most here that Jarrett will step up, but the fact of the matter is that our offense's success simply is not predicated on our third receiver.

Dwayne Jarrett may very well step up next year, but by no means is he our missing link on offense, nor will his emergence render our offense unstoppable.

I hope dwayne comes around this year. Pat thinks he will.

The Panthers have spent the last two years grooming Dwayne Jarrett and he seemed to win the trust of the coaching staff late last season. The Panthers believe Jarrett is the future at this position and they may look to gradually move him ahead of Muhammad.

True but I would feel better if Jarrett's able to step it up in case Moose starts wearing down physically this season.

I'm still yearning for a speedy receiver that can stretch the field ala Drew Carter.

Yes, it can be stopped. I'm a firm believer that if you match up a stellar defense against a stellar offense, the defense will win more times than not
yes and it hasn't even been proven that the Panthers have a stellar offense yet, good ground game but we lost some offensive linemen and I'm not sold on jarret yet,we still only have 2 receivers, don't count yer chickens b4 they hatch!
