Colin Kaepernicks post game attire

I didn't write that correctly. I'm saying that there is no way I would dress the way Kaepernick does while conducting a press conference. It's very unprofessional

I lived in Fremont for 25 years. Born at Washington hospital. Damn that city has gotten crowded with traffic lights every 50 feet hasn't it? I drove down Fremont Blvd. from five corners to alverado/ardenwood and it took me nearly a half hour because of red lights!

Not sure exactly where you are hanging out, but I have never seen any "young people" dressing like that.

I teach college classes at a private liberal arts college in Massachusetts, and many of my students dress like that.

Notably, though, none of them dress like that when giving presentations or posters or the like.  They tend to look more professional when they are addressing groups.  I never told them to, but someone along the lines did.

Maybe I should stop wearing jeans and tshirts to conferences.

Naah.

I must be really missing out on something, because I have not seen it.

But then again, my oldest is a 16yo nerd and never dresses anything like that....same with his friends.

I need to broaden my horizons more.

I agree with 2 things in this thread

1- you should never judge someone by the clothes that they wear or their choice of fashion.

2- BUT he does look like a complete douchebag. How hard is it to just set your fugging headphones and hat off to the side and do your pooty press conference and pick em back up on your way out the door?

Well, here is how it is. Football is played a lot by urban kids. In fact, you can say they pretty much dominate the sport. With that come the culture and the swag of being raised in that environment. So, if a certain group of people is watching the game but not feeling the swag all they need to do is dominate them and get them off the field. You can't expect them to assimilate to your swag and the culture you're more familiar with. That's what it boils down to. If you don't like Kaepernick, Cam, Sherman, etc. and the way they carry themselves; they would not be there if they were dominated on the field from the pee wee level. Those guys are there because they dominate from the start thus follow their culture and swag.

So, if you're mad bro, just dominate them and get them off the field. Have a roll call, send out a distress signal to the swag of your liking to get their games up and dominate. Plain and simple. You can't expect to seat in front of your 55 inch screen on Sunday enjoying them play yet want to suppress their culture and mannerism from being expressed. If you want that, just get the culture and swag that you want to dominate them on the field so you never have to see them on your big screen anymore. Sport is probably the fairest thing we have in our society(Even though some try to rig it as much as they can).

If you go to the playground and you want to get on the court, what do you do? Do you start complaining about people already on the court or do you get 4 other guys who share your swag and run them off the court? That's all it is, just run them of the field/court. You can't expect everyone to assimilate to your liking and act just like you.

I never said that he should "assimilate" or that he should even change.

I just pointed out that he sounds like an idiot...looks like an idiot....and acts like an asshat to me....but that is only one man's opinion and view, nothing more.

Others may find him to their liking and that he relates to them....that is fine.

You could have just ignored this thread and post nothing if Kaepernicks' appearance and swag didn't bother you. Anyhow, fair enough!

I will never raise a daughter who will bring home some wanna be thug who wears a red trucker cap sideways or is covered in tattoos.

My sister started dating a guy who had his arms covered in tattoos, and my mother hated it and didn't want her to see him anymore in favor of another on and off again boyfriend who was clean cut and dressed preppy.

Long story short, 15 years later the clean cut guy is a complete scumbag to women and the guy with the tattoos is now my brother-in-law and is neck and neck with my wife as my parents favorite child-in-law and has stuck by my sister through thick and thin.

But, what would be the fun in that.

I like posting and then sitting back to watch  all of you lose your minds instead. :jig:
