He would actually have to stay healthy for this to happen, and you know, actually make the team meetings.

 

What I find humorous, is how people act as if his injury issues will suddenly just go poof, and disappear if he comes to Carolina.

 

It's 50/50 either way. He comes and his injuries plague him or he plays better and stays on the field.

 

Any player at anytime can miss the whole season. No locks anymore.

He didn't shoot himself in the leg and go to jail for 2 years, or murder some puppies.. he was late to a couple meetings and had a bad year with an even worst Eli Manning who finally regressed to his mean.

Gettleman I would imagine is close with the Giants FO. If it is true he was repeatedly fined by the team, I am sure Gettleman will have been notified about it and if such is the case, I have my doubts we sign Nicks. Not really interested in him either unless it's cheap.

Good point friends don't let friends drive drunk. I am sure Gettleman will inquire about Nicks antics in. NY and he will be told the truth. I think the truth will hurt many huddlers feelings.

Josh Gordon had Brandon Weeden, and Jason Campbell throwing to him, and still managed 9 touchdowns, and over 1600 yards.

Gettleman was in the Giants front office every year of Nicks career except this past one. He has plenty of direct knowledge all his own.

If he decides to sign him for whatever he thinks he's worth, I'll be fine with that.

If he decides to not even bother with him, I'll be fine with that too.

He knows Nicks well enough to know whether it's worth it or not, so I'll trust whatever decision he makes.

The number of td's he scored could be irrelevant.  That could be more a function of the Giants offense, than a bad mark on him.

 

More important to me is how good he runs routes, how many times he was targeted vs catches, how healthy he is, and how well he gets along with his teammates. As Mr. Scott said, Gettleman knows Nicks fairly well, and will have good insight into how much he can help us.  The only thing he might not know is Nicks current health, but I do tend to trust Gettleman's decision on this matter.
