Bobcats will be able to move his expiring contract in 2010 for something. I think Chandler is here a year and then moved for something else.

correct me if Im wrong brad, but Chandler's contract will expire after this first year unless he picks up his player option for the last year at 12.2 mill. So he could opt out of his contract after next year, and the bobcats will not be able to trade him. If this happens though, the bobcats will have some big money to spend on FAs next offseason, and Nazrs contract will be an expiring contract to move.

No, but there are other guys that will be free agents. IMO, next offseason will be a bad year for the bobcats to have a lot of extra money to spend on FAs. Every team is trying to have lots of money to spend on James, Wade and Bosh, but only three teams will sign them. That leaves a lot of extra money to be spent on mediocre players. Im sure the bobcats will drop 12mil a year on brad miller. There will be some other good players out there though...joe johnson, marcus camby, manu ginolbli, steven jackson, tracy mcgrady, rip hamilton

I want to know why Scott Fowler did the article on this yesterday. I hope Rick Bonnell is on vacation or something. Bonnell is one of the better NBA beat writers, wouldn't surprise me if the observer screwed Bonnell though.

Bonnell is on furlough. When you are furloughed, by law you can not have anything to do with your job during that day.

I've thought about it and have come to the conclusion that this trade is stupid only if the guy stays injured. Otherwise, it could just work out well if healthy. Out of Oak, Diop, and Nazi I just never thought Okafor would be the one to go.

I kinda want to keep Nazi just in case Chandler can't play although he doesn't want to play 3rd fiddle behind Diop. I still can't understand the logic when they were just complaining about the lack of scoring from our post players.

Chandler when healthy is a beast. I hope he is well...

One thing that cross my mind about this trade is Oak was solid but he never had the Zo factor. Maybe I'm showing my age but do you remember when Zoe was in charlotte? He came just like Oak never had a Off game in college and was consider just a great def player. but he developed a nice outside shot and post moves (even thought it was awkward as heck) in the first season. I thought Oak could do the same thing but he never did. Zo also had this aggression that Oak doesn't have. He would make you afraid too come in the middle and dunk on you then scream in your face. I like and missed that I thought that showed Zo's love and emotion was in the game. Now I like Oak but he would do things that drove me crazy. Beside not having any post game he had the worst hands I have ever seen on a big man. He would bobble like 5 or 6 perfect passes a game then go up and get his poo blocked. He was a bad finisher for a big man because he could never catch a ball and he was a stiff very unathletic player. People are lying too themselves if they say any different. Now Oak was solid but that was the best he was going too get and he was making too much money.

I guess my point is I see more of Zo in Chandler then I do in Oak. More passion and that aggression plus he can run the floor and is a better finisher then Oak is. He actually catches passes that are thrown too him and tries too dunk on people hard. Really how many times have you seen him bobble a alley or get his poo blocked that alone should get the fans in charlotte more excited this team will run more and still have some pretty good Defence.

Saint J you bring up some stupid stat too back up your statements.

1st = Oak avg. more points then chandler because he took more shots. This team force the ball down too Oak too try too get him a offensive game. It didn't work. Plus he was always the 1st or 2nd option on many plays. I promise he won't avg. more point with the hornets because he will be like the 4-5 or 6 best offensive options on your team.

1st you have Cp3, David west gets all the post up plays and you still have Peja and Rasual Butler. Where does Oak get his points? Wait a minute the same way Chandler did alley and put backs. The problem with that is Oak is a bad finisher and has the worst hands. All those great passes that CP3 threw too Chandler Oak will bobble or drop and ruin the alley opp or play. Chandler foot work and athletic moves will be something you will miss.

2nd = you have already seen the data about injuries and games played so no need to go into that.

3rd = Your team won't be able too run as well with Oak as your center as you did with chandler. Chandler moves better then Oak. You will find this out soon.

4th = You will have a log jam in the middle cause 1st Oak is not good on Pick and roll. Plus he can't shoot more then 9-10 feet away from the rim since you already have David West in the post. You won't have no room in the lane for drives and slashes too the basket making your team a outside shooting team. I hope you like too live and die by the jumper.

    • So sorry as hope you can have that longer than six years and four months.
    • Honestly, I'm still down to trade him. Glad his stock is going up though
