This is the history before us. At first glance it looks as though the organization is very happy just to have a good season, then follow it up by resting on their laurels enjoying what happened yesterday...

Well, time to step up and qualify what you did in 2013 by performing in 2014.

You, my man, are a thinking man. Everybody's getting too excited about this 12-4 season but nobody ask what if the coaching staffs have their heads in the sand and oblivious to the team needs. For all we know this coaching staff could go into the off season thinking all we need is more defensive players and start the season with the same line up on offense. Nobody notice that we're the same team as the jets talent wise with Cam as the ex-factor. Good defense horrible skill players on offense, but the coaches keep thinking their team is one more defensive player away from a superbowl. For all we know Lafel could have already gotten in Rivera's ear and make him think he is their franchise WR. This is how 7-9 happens after a 12-4 season.

Sucking for a decade straight will afford you the opportunity to draft Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, Mike Iupati, Michael Crabtree, Patrick Willis, Navaro Bowman, and Aldon Smith.

So does trading your 2009 2nd round pick for a 2010 1st round pick to an incompetent GM so he could draft Everett Brown in 2009.

Allowing you to take Mike Iupati in 2010.

I thought this one of Marty's greatest flaws. He didn't look at the long term picture. He was more year to year like many of the casual fans we see and made too many personal/emotional decisions. From everything DG has said so far it seems like he is going to be more long term and hopefully carry us to winning seasons year after year.

Also my mom impression of Hurney.

I never really thought he had a long term plan. Successful teams do. Unsuccessful teams just go from year to year.

I also felt that he really hurt the team in his final year or 2 for selfish reasons. Clearly he was thinking that his job was at jeopardy so he mortgaged off our future for short term success. Trading away future picks and pushing cap problems into the future to save his job.
