Saw the lone ranger again on an outdoor projector screen and it's still incredible

Still one of the best films of the year, actual film aficianados like Tarantino agree

agreed.

dont understand the hate.  soundtrack and cinematography are pretty good imo.  johnny d is funny and entertaining the whole way through.

I liked the Lone Ranger, dont know what people were expecting... Its Depp playing an off-the-wall character (go figure) and its based on a TV show from way back. Who was expecting the next  Argo/Crash/Ghandi? The same people that bitched about Transformers... Lone Ranger is entertaining, I like the fact that they went the 'origin' route, give you the backstory...

I simply do not understand the Tyler Perry franchise at all. Why does this guy have to be a woman in his movies? Is he that bad of an actor that he needs to be an even worse actress? Makes no sense to me at all.

Aside from that, I've not seen nor will I see any of these....

Say what you will; Tyler Perry knows his audience and knows how to make a movie that appeals to them.

Go to Box Office Mojo and check out his oeuvre. He just prints money every time he makes a movie. It doesn't seem to matter what it's about, if it's good or not, anything really. If he makes a movie, he's going to triple the dollars spent to make it. Low budget, high profit, reliable as clockwork: The Tyler Perry Franchise Explained.

All I know is I'd never go see any of his crappy movies. But I'll tip my hat to him as a businessman.

In other words, he has sacrificed every ounce of integrity, image, legitimacy as an actor, credibility in his craft for money.

When his run is over, no one will remember him and no one will miss him.

Nope. Not a soul will miss him. He'll just sit in his enormous mansion overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and cry into his chalice of Dom Perignon, pining over his lost integrity as an actor.

What a fool.

Some people act because it's a craft they take seriously, and they want to be remembered as one of the great artists who truly advanced the medium; the Tom Hankses, the Kevin Spaceys, the Denzels, the Jacks, the Blanchetts. Others just want to entertain; the Sandlers, the Stillers, the Schwarzeneggers, the Harts, the Carrey's, the Depps. And there are those who just look at movies as a means to make boatloads of money. You can't fault a man for that.

Also, before you think that other actors aren't just as willing to sell their acting integrity down the river for a big check, look at the ads and B-movies they are making overseas and, praying they never make their way back to the US.
