Charter wants to buy TWC

Hasn't the FCC and the gov't basically deregulated the entire industry to the point they can about do whatever they want and, much like mob families, have agreed to divide the pie so there's enough to keep everyone happy?

I know when I was in Ohio (about a half hour outside Columbus) that was the only time I remember having two cable companies to choose from in the same area.

There was a small company called WOW that competed with Time Warner.

I recently switched from Direct TV to TWC.  There is not a lot of difference so far regarding TV, except that TWC doesn't go out during a thunderstorm.  But the entire package of internet/phone/tv cost the same as I was paying for Directv alone. And TWC internet service is light years better than anything else available in my area.

As far as customer service, I rarely call it, but the one time I did, they were fairly good.

Charter is terrible. Almost as bad as Comcast. Hope this doesn't happen.

I loved Comcast when I had it. Internet speeds were several times faster than what we get in Charlotte with TWC. Back when I used to download pirated movies, it made a huge difference. (I don't do that anymore). With TWC, I've had buffering screens on netflix. Now I've just cut cable all together.

If the deal does go through, you'll likely have the same ignorant crews who work for TWC still working.
