Speculation on Hardy's Future (NFL.com)

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

If I were Gettlemagic I would have a meeting with all of the big money teammates of Cam, Hardy, Ginn, Captain, Mitchell and Mikell, hat in hand and ask them "Do you want to win now?!? Do you want to create a dynasty here? Then the team needs your help! "

The only way we get out of this is a massive restructuring of contracts. Some guys will have to take a cut to keep the band together. If not we'll be right back at the bottom of the NFCS without a QB or an adequate defense. Cap hell is hell

It's up to them. Some players could ensure a roster spot for themselves and not get traded or released or anything like that if they considered playing ball with this. Win. Win

I just don't see Hardy doing anything outside of this Organization like he has been. He is a great player no doubt, but he benefits greatly from CJ and the new DT's we have.

Meh... He would benefit more from thinking about the long term and taking the biggest paycheck possible. In the NFL you get one shot at a big deal especially as a 6th round pick.

That said I hope he sticks around.

Hell i would follow the money too. In my opinion, i don't see him as dominate like he has been in Carolina, if he does decide to go to another team.

I don't disagree, 50/50 sounds right.

These options have been gone over repeatedly, I know you've seen them, because you've posted in the threads. Just because you don't personally like these options, doesn't mean they aren't legitimate, or on the table. Who knows what will happen? I'm just expressing my opinion.

The things that people without knowledge of how things work in reality say on message boards are not options.  He's a UFA who seems to be going out of his way to express he wants a lot of money. It's a very real possibility that he could walk.

I don't expect him back.

That said, there was a time when it looked like any and all bridges between the Chicago Bears and Lance Briggs had been burned, blown up and had the fragments scattered all across the world, yet somehow a deal wound up struck between them.

Ya never know.

Just reading between the lines on gmans and gregs statements, I think all fans should be prepared for life without the kraken.....it's easy enough for us as fans to sit here and say hey take less money to help the team out but I doubt anyone of you put in a similar situation wouldn't take garunteed superstar $$$ now over waiting for it in a league where tommorrow isn't garunteed, I really can't blame him for taking the cash he's earned it.....all that being said i really hope a tag and trade gets worked out, our Dline is gonna be beast regardless CJ is a GREAT DE don't forget, and we have another future superstar in Star, there are so many glaring needs like OLine, CBs, and most importantly WR and weapons for cam.....I hope Gman can work some magic

Yes, and still are. Stewart's contract only gets worse the next few years.

lol, no kidding. Can you imagine if his option bonus is declined.....ahhhhhh!!!!!!!! He'd jump to close to 9 million in guaranteed base salary. The team would however be able to cut him next season with a lot less impact on the team's future cap.
