Both Our DT's Make The All Rookie Team

I think double dipping on O-line will only happen if the value is there. If a O line guy falls to the second that we like we may scoop him up like last year at DT.

But we won't double dip just for the sake of double dipping

G'man did a great job with the Defensive side of the ball last year.  We have some members flip a lid when we double dipped at DT but not too many complaints when we became a Top 5 defense.

I have full faith and confidence in him this year and if he double dips at OT or WR I might say who? But, won't complain.

Go Panthers

How about double dip on OL and bring in a bunch of value guys to compete at WR? Say a 3rd round WR and a $2M free agent.

It worked on Defense with our secondary.

Na ill pass on that. we have great depth at guard. if we sign gross again all we really need to do is replace Bell with a mauler RT and a future replacement for Gross. I just want to go OT/WR in the first 2 rounds. getting one of each in the draft and one of each in FA.

If we get our #!1 in the draft now Gettlemen can draft hog mollies for 2015 on out as far as I care. Cam need a young fresh receiver to grow and develop chemistry with.

Every draft is different

DUH.

But trends suggest for example that by the 28th pick there will be half a dozen O linemen taken and a similar number of D linemen.  Meanwhile other than a megatron or Julio jones, you can usually get one of the top 3 or 4 wide receivers.  After the first 5 or 6 players at a position there is often not a big dropoff between the next 10 or 12 guys.  So you can get an OL at 28 who is not much different than than a guy you can get in the second round or one of the best guys at a different position such as WR or  corner.

Obviously if someone falls to you like Star did this year you jump on them. We were just lucky to do as well as we did this year. But you can't expect to get lucky like that every year.

Football is won in the trenches. In that last SF game if we had better OL we could of pushed our way in on those goal line stops. I wouldn't mind double dipping for OL considering that and Shula's style requires an excellent OL. Hopefully with an upgraded OL we can also get more out of our horrendously overpaid backfield.

Happy for our rookies!

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
