I've thought about a few different ways to address WR>TE, but really it's all pretty straight forward.  Fix the run game/pass protection, 2 TEs will in fact spread the field and since we'll run more playaction, a #28 overall prospect isn't exactly going to be pulling targets away from Ginn, Smitty, and Olsen.  So supplement a 4th option for an athletic TE that will cause even more havoc along with Olsen who all are more likely facing LBs and Ss at the end of the day.

 

Our best games this year came from an effective run game.  With the state of this franchise's cap situation this would go further for the team in the long run.  WR wasn't the biggest reason we lost games this year. 

 

Im sorry but all I see in your scenario or anybody scenario to focus mainly on OL is just regular season success. Playmakers is what needed in the playoffs. All that's doing is going to force teams to stack the box as they've been doing all year, nothing changes. When you have legitmate options it helps the run game cause it spreads defenses out. You see what Steve being injured does to our offense. Without a 1,000 yard rusher or receiver it's not going to work and we don't have that and won't have it focusing on OL. 3 RB isn't a recipe for success especially our 3 RB. Just look at all SB teams and it shows. Look at the 4 teams left, they have one those. 1 RB who is a 1,000 rusher and/or atleast 1 receiver who is a 1,000 yard receiver

I'd like our WR to be fixed..  I just don't think it'll be in the 1st round..  So I think what I'm explaining is a great scenario to cover ourselves and still add weapons.  you can get your WR at #28 and hope it's going to help, but chances are unless "he" explodes out of the gates then it isn't going to be a huge fix.

DG did not aay a word about team needs, or draft.

ANYBODY trying to get anything about personnel out of this presser is only grasping at straws in the dark.

He mentioned that we got to beat the best in the NFC, and the biggest difference between us and them is the hog mollies up front.

I personally love what DG is doing here. He's building a team that will dominate for years.
