There were many times that we needed Shula to kill a minute and he couldn't.

Just off the top of my head, the buffalo game, San Fran week 10 and Atlanta week 17. Shula is constantly getting bailed out by Cam's running ability. Cam's running ability plus waiting till the last second to snap the ball runs up TOP.

I find it hard to believe this looks like the tougher situation to pull off than expecting a rookie WR to be anything more than a 3rd option anyway.  Stacking the OL gives you a run game, play action, then Smitty, Olsen, Ginn already taking up most shots down field.  Add a 2nd TE that can stretch the field and you've done more with less.

And I have to say: those examples don't speak much towards your point.  Guys show up/don't show up in games at both positions.  Using one game doesn't say much.  That has less to do with the position and more with the scheme on both your offense and their defense; and at times, maybe even a player's character..

Ok but who is our run game? We have 3 RB who has to split carries not getting anyone in a groove and neither of them are 1,000 yard backs. Stew stay injured and D.Will obviously lost a step. Cam is our running game, he's the biggest defensive gameplan for running and passing. If we expect Cam to be a pocket passer he needs receivers. When you look at the NFL, nobody runs 2 TE sets. That was a small phase and it passed over. These days you can however get a dynamic beast TE who essentially operates as a WR. You have to have playmakers on offense not just a bunch of average guys, we can't expect Cam to have no mistakes cause we don't have anyone to bail him out when he does. No consistent 1,000 yard RB, no consistent 1,000 yard receiver,  the offense is going to fold towards the end of the year and in the playoffs

Total points is how you win games, and the top teams on third downs besides Carolina were Denver, San Diego, and New Orleans.

Now that you've completed the circle I'm done.

What circle?  For someone who calls someone else retarded, or that has retarded questions, you can't even seem to comprehend math that my nephew in 4th grade in a pooty public school can comprehend.

Here is a math equation that may help.

player A shoots 200 Free throws

Player B shoots 100 free throws

Player A makes 180 free throws

player B makes 90 free throws

Who is the better free throw shooter?

A)  Player A because he made twice as many free throws

B )  Player B because he missed 10 less free throws

C) they are equally efficient free throw shooters

It's happening again LOL! This guy just doesn't get it.

The circle logic is astounding with this one.

maybe i didnt read all the posts...? thought i had gone back far enough. i haven't seen any circular logic except maybe Grrrbeck: good offense scores points. scoring points is a good offense. we need to look into this deeper than that.

i understand we lost a playoff game which for some means we're bad. that's just your emotion f'ing with you. stats are one way to stay objective.

Okay guys you're right, our offense is good. Not that it is bad statistically in every area other than one that has been proved to be a useless cherry picked stat.

Keep going in circles.

What don't I get?

I don't think math is your strong suite and I am not sure you know what circular logic means (for one it is circular logic and not circle logic, which is a pretty obvious tell).

I'm not going to explain the entire thread, keep poking at posts trying to find some argument to win.

We have a poo offense, it's a fact. Why did I even bother lowering myself to your level, I knew this would happen, right back to the start. You're even trying to argue semantics now instead of just the same straw man.

you can't just minimize the 2TE set without telling me how you think it's ineffective.  Because the opposite is true.  And try explaining how it's a phase by how it's ineffective.   Pats would still be running it if one of their guys didn't murder someone.

And our run game is whoever is in the backfield.  That's why having a good OL minimizes the RB position.  We have plenty of talent to carry the rock too.  2 may deal with injuries but one will be available.  Tolbert is perfectly fine back there too.  Barner will a good option down the road.  Doesn't really matter.
