Live Press Conference with G-Man @ Noon

We have RBs like Gore and Lynch. Dwill is faster than both and Stew has about the same power as Gore. Lynch is in his own league with Charles. The problem is there was no push or hole generated from the O line thus no running game. That is why Cam had to ball it out this year. Fix the Oline and everything improves (run game, cam has more time to find wrs, wrs have more time to get open) a run game also commits an extra man in the box which will help the passing game. Domino effect. We saw how the dominos fell with fixing the d-line.

100% correct

So do you think our wide receiver core is stronger or worst than the year Cam first cam here?

From Cam's first year we are missing Legs, Jarret and A.E.  Now we have Ginn and Hixon.  Even if you don't think Hixon is worth it, he can't be worst off than Jarret and that's an upgrade, and Ginn is a definite upgrade over Jarret, A.E. and Legs.  So if we can stronger than then, why can't we see some success when teams do stack the box.  When you have 3 db's in coverage, Smitty, Ginn, Olson, Hixon will burn one on one coverages and that is how you make them pay.  So that will be one of those pick your poison deals.

Plus, I do believe Hixon will not be back since he didn't get the playing time so D.G. will almost absolutely bring him a replacement.

Teams have been stacking the box most of the year and have only had success from it. Look at how anemic our offense has been this year other than Cam. Right now we have a WR core stacked with number threes that's aging rapidly. We aren't going to magically start burning defenses down with a better O-Line. It's going to same poo as this year.

I hope and pray Cam has a talk with him and tells him he wants a receiver 1st round. if cam wants that, he definitely deserves it after this year. if cam doesnt get what he wants, i will not be suprised if he is a real stiff in the contract negotiations.

Yeah man, Cam's legs was the sole reason we were so good on 3rd down most of the year

So anytime we get points put on us we are unable to mount any comeback due to the style of offense and the talent on it! So again were gona rely on the defence and hope we put up some points! It's just conservative football! Go and suprise the aints the bucs atl and the whole of the NFC by getting weapons they then may fear us

Valid points but Ginn looked good in the last game of the year against a stout defense as well as Smitty.  Olson also showed up, but it's hard for Cam to throw to open receivers when he gets sacked 5 times and hurried 11 times.  That's nearly the amount of snaps of the 2nd half that went to passing.  So with that type of pressure stacked against him, I don't care who your receivers are, if your quarterback always has someone in his face, then he can't look down the field.

Look at what we did to Drew and he has a bunch of shiny toys that any team would love to have, and when he doesn't have time, he doesn't get the ball off or hit his targets in stride.

No. Williams isn't comparable to them. They are both better RBs

An injury plagued aging Stewart isn't either. Gettlemen spoke about guys having injury in there DNA.....we got one.

Cam getting sacked happens more often from receivers not getting open and being stuck in the box than you're seeing. Hell with Cam's ability to keep the play alive you would think we would see more deep plays, but it never happens. Our receivers do not come open, there's examples in every game we've played this year.

Our O-Line will improve regardless of draft picks simply from resigning key players, and getting back healthy players. Our offensive weapons are only going to keep fading.

they had to be, there were defenders in the backfield before people could had time to get open.  i think one area Cam can improve on is anticipating when a wr will be open and throwing to that spot.  not saying he cant do it, but i think he can still improve, i think sometimes he waits to be sure someone is open rather than anticipating it.

I want to improve our WR corps too, but let's take another look at a stat from the SF game...

Cam's QB rating under pressure was 2. Cam's QB rating when he was not pressured was 133.

Time and time again we have seen Cam pass as well as any QB in the league from an accuracy standpoint, decision making standpoint, and any other way you want to measure it, when he has a clean pocket.

Pretending like OL are just a bunch of fat guys to help us run the ball for 4 yards a pop is taking a very limited view of their contributions.

Well I do know that in the 4th quarter or it may have been the 3rd but Cam got sacked back to back less than a half second of him securing the ball.  That didn't seem like he had plenty of time to me, and that's just one scenario that stands out to me.
