NFL Total Access discusses Kaepernick mocking Cam

Smithers

Recommended Posts

I was confused by it merely because I didn't think Kaepernick owned any button up dress shirts and thus I didn't think he was capable of knowing how to 'button up' his mock and go for the makeout with his bicep.

I agree that defensive players earned the right to mock. I'm not even sure Kaep was trying to mock Cam to be disrespectful towards Cam. I do think he was mocking Cam to be disrespectful towards our fans though. I only hope no little kids with Newton jerseys and superman capes on were front and center for that.

Kaep and Cam were roommates at the combine. Kaepernick went up to cam after the game, gave him props and patted him on the shoulder.

You guys just need to get over the fact you lost and quit making mountains out of molehills.

aside from krappernick extremely obvious insecurity about Cam Newton, can a few of you "traditionalists" also get the fug over Cam's first down and TD celebrations with this "I like my QB to shut teh fug up and only win football games" bullshit..

for fug sake, find something else to bitch about.. like why water is wet or how many digs it takes to reach china...

But but but Barry Sanders

It will just feed the fire.

Give our QB some targets to throw to and watch Kaepernick rue the day he mocked Cam.

Give our QB some OL that can protect him and open up a running game and the offense would be unstoppable.....even with the WR's we have.

First three rounds need to be 2 OL and a WR.

FA needs to add a CB and WR

This is like Rugby games vs England, if they win the game they will salute you with a ironic "good game"

If they loose they are leaving the field asap.

And btw Cam is quickly moving away from this hypocrital AH.

I admit, I was pissed by the time Kap scored, and him doing Cam's celebration added fuel to my fire of ire (rhyme baby!).  After I cool down, while kind of douchey, it's not that big of a deal.  The media is going to jump all over it, fine.  It moves internet traffic.

After seeing the interviews and the instagram stuff, it sheds a bit more light on the thing.  Niner fans will disagree, but as a 10 year teacher, Kap's stuff surrounding the whole "SuperCam-Gate" thing scream "look at me" antics.  Whether he admits it or not, he's really jealous of Cam for some reason.  Kap really aught to thank his lucky stars that he's where he is.  The 49ers have a great team already there, a coaching staff that plays to his strengths, and a whole side of the country that has absolutely fallen in love with his story, his body, and his play.  He's been to now three straight NFC championships...won one and came to a last drive in the super bowl.  I mean, why is he jealous of Cam again?

Here's what would have made a lot more sense, and created some meaning.  Had he done the Super-Cam/Cam-Point against GB, towards the end.  That would have sent a much better message, and allowed for some better context (competition/comming after you/ect...).  He would have still looked arrogant, cocky, and childish.  But in a way that Amuricians can really support (Amuricans is intentional).

I still think it's funny that everyone is getting so worked up over it.  What the D should have done, the Oline, the recievers, Cam should have done was to come back and respond fiercely instead of semi-rolling over (punching/bone headed plays).  The 49ers got into the Panthers' collective heads, beat us up, and rubbed our noses in it.

I mean, if this defeat wasn't one that sets a tone and expectation next year...they are all going to be looking for work soon!

I expect defenses to do it. Feels different when an opposing QB does. And on a scoring play

ding ding ding

if it was aldon smith or somebody then it wouldn't be that big of a deal. defenses are supposed to do that sort of thing. kaepernick violated an unwritten positional code, unprovoked, and showed his ass to the world.

Yes I did. The point was it appeared to me to be typical banter between two guys who were roommates. This is only a story because Kaepernick is the one who did it.

Players on all teams mock each other's celebrations all the time, and it's never a story. Kaepernick does it and "OMG!"

To be honest, I cant remember the last time a offensive player mocked the opposing offense player.  D players do it to O players all the time and O players do it to D players all the time.  I've seen that.  In recent memory, this is honestly the first I watched an O player do it to another O player.  Do you have any other examples of this happening?

Riiiight... because Carolina Panther Mike Mitchell did mocked Kaepernick's trademark celebration it's suddenly OK for a defensive player to do it.

Supposedly this draft will be deep in wr, ol, and cb, so I feel like we'll find value in the first 3 rounds at any of these positions unless they're coming off the board like, well, hotcakes (sort of like how a "deep defensive line class" lasts like half a round)

I think it's a great idea to use both a draft pick on wr and a free agent signing. Beyond that, we need two starters at corner as well. Don't know what we're going to do to approach offensive line though. Maybe get a vet tackle, but then again that's what gross is already. I really haven't been paying attention to draft prospects since we've been good this year so I'm not sure.

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Everyone talks about the most important positions on a football team… backup LT is in the top 10.  Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
