28th Pick in May

I think we should go after Eric Decker in FA...hell Nicks too if we can somehow swing it. I think Decker is actually a possibility, Denver isn't going to be able to give him what he wants considering they paid Welker last year, and Demaryus Thomas is going to command a HUGE contract next year. That and the emergence of Julius Thomas at TE. Someone is going to be the odd man out.

I know this is a draft thread, so I say go after Decker in FA and draft the best OT or CB on the board in the first.

If we go WR in rd 1  I like  Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State FloridaState_logo.gif
Benjamin has been a big-time play-maker for the Seminoles this season. Even though other receivers saw more targets, the redshirt sophomore produced a lot of long receptions for Jameis Winston. In 2013, Benjamin had 54 receptions for 1,011 yards with 15 touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 234-pounder is a mismatch nightmare with a ton of upside. He has the speed to stretch a defense vertically as he torched Florida and cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy to the tune of 212 yards on nine catches and three scores.

Marqise Lee, WR

Cyrus Kouandjio, OT

Taylor Lewan, OT

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE
Odell Beckham Jr., WR

current picks

1-28

2-60

3-92

4-124

5-156

6-188

7-202 from Giants for Beason

7-220 Colin Jones from SF

I absoulty want to trade down into the 2nd round and pick up another 3rd.  Its really a no brainer sitting at #28.

2nd TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins

2nd OT Jack Mewhort

3rd  OT Morgan Moses

3rd  WR Brandon Coleman

If Carolina trades tags Greg Hardy then this changes things considerably.

That pick belongs to SF, not us. We gave that pick for Jones.

Carolina is win now mode. They should bring in a FA for the wr position.  drafting a wr will take them atleast 1 year to start to really make an impact. save that wr pick until the 3rd.

Exactly what I've been preaching about. People thinks that all we have to do is go into the draft and take two receivers and it would solve the whole offense. No way in hell that's happening. Rookies take some times to develop. Whether that's mid way through the season or 2-3 years. Also, Steve Smith is now a no3 receiver at best.

We need to find both a no1 and no2 receiver for Cam. We should take a young receiver in the draft, but most importantly Gettleman needs to find a productive veteran receiver that can come take the pressure off Cam in tough situation and on third in long.

Gettleman wants to play the hard ball game or really for some just being cheap. Hakeem Nicks and Jeremy Maclin are two guys with no leverage that will more than likely have to play on a one year contract to prove themselves to other that they are worth long term deal for 2015. Maclin has already express his understanding of it.

“I understand it could be a possibility that [the ACL tear] may scare some teams off, or a team may want to do a one-year deal as opposed to a long-term contract,” Maclin said. “That’s the game, that’s the business.”(PFT)
