Question on Hardy

tag and trade to Cleveland for their 26th over all pick.

I would prefer to keep him. But if we had to tag and trade Oakland would be the team to deal with.

His production is at the very least solid and sometimes great. His personality is something that helps create a rabid fanbase.

There is no doubt he is a valuable commodity.

Or Oakland's second AND third round picks.

KC got Minnesota's first, 2 third rounders and swapped sixth rounders

Allen was 25 and coming off a year with 15.5 sacks... Sound familiar

Allen has averaged 14.25 in the 6 years with MIN, with the 22 in 2011 obviously skewing the numbers a bit. Can Hardy keep up that level of production?

I would like to keep him. I know we are a jaded bunch because of the billion dollar RB contracts, but double dipping at DE isn't the same as double dipping at RB. I look at how KK and Star killed it as rookies, but kinda hit the rookie wall later in the year, and I think as they get even better next year they will really collapse the pocket and having two stud DE's means our D could seriously be better than this years, and that'll keep us in every game.

Sign Hakeem Nicks to a modest contract, which shouldn't be tough to do considering he didn't have a TD catch this year, and use him to replace LaFell, then keep Ginn to stretch the field and draft either a WR or playmaking TE and our offense could really put up some points.

People forget Amini was really turning into something special and Kugbilla is an unknown that has the power to be awesome too. We need Tackles but you can't fix everything in a year.

And that's why I'm ok with tagging and traded him, because I'm not sure how he's going to perform once he gets a contract.

But right now he's trade value will never be higher, 25 years old and coming off a monster year where like alot of poster have said he does alot more than just gets sacks.

We have lots of needs and need to take advantage of Hardy increasing his value during the second half of the season as opposed to letting it hurt us. Just my opinion. What do you think?

Sign Hakeem Nicks to a modest contract

There is virtually no chance that a guy who publicly declares himself one of the best receivers in the league while his team is going through a losing season will sign a "modest" contract. He isn't worth what he is going to command, and if we were silly enough to sign an overrated injury prone wide receiver to a large contract, I'd rather just keep Hardy.

If we agree to a contract that makes sense and allows us space to bring some offense in, sign him and solidify this DL for 4+ years to come.

To be conservative, I think we're definitely looking at over 11 mil a year. The franchise is right around 12 mil for DEs next year so I'm in the franchise him crowd and see if we can trade him.

I think ultimately Hardy is gone due to the fact that there are too many glaring weaknesses on the team and signing a player to a large contract at a position of strength will hinder the improvement of this team.

Hardy proved that there are gems in the later rounds of the draft and this year shouldn't be looked at any different.

I think you also have to look at what he's being asked to do. I think he and CJ were being asked to play contain on Kaep and keep him in the pocket, leaving the pressure up to Star and co.

That said, I would not break the bank for Hardy.
