Upon further review, we should go o line in 1st round instead of receiver

No way.  Gross is still playing at a Pro-Bowl level and the way the team is playing fully expect him back next year.  You name Chandler and Wharton, you do know the reason why we picked Wharton and Converted Chandler.  Our OG's got slammed by the injury bug, Chandler was around the 4th String OG option.  As bad as the WRs were could you imagine the WRs getting bit like that leaving Cam to throw to Joe Adams and Armanti all season haha

We have 2 Young guys (one our 2nd rounder 2 years ago) who were projected starter and staff was high on.  Bell easy to Jump on but when teams weren't bringing the house he looked serviceable that OL with makeshift OGs was getting Praised in the first before that top 9ers D stacked up and brought the house considering our Receivers outside Smith proved ZERO threat.  We can bring in the OL 1st but without the weapons that stud young guy is Still going to get bull-rushed and look bad when teams continue to stack the box.  Gotta go WR and DB rounds 1 and 2 and FA

eh, for a 12-4 team we have many holes. i'm talking Decker/Nicks type quality WR would allow us to go oline/db first and second. dont get me wrong, would love to see us develop a blue chip wr, but we saw what the run game has become. of course if we settle those positions in FA, then definitely get the fourth of fifth best WR left on the board at 27 or wherever we are picking.

A Nicks/Tate type receiver allows us to possibly delay the position into 2nd. As our WR corp demonstrated yesterday and throughout the season at large, they aren't capable of getting the job done even when the OL is performing well.

We take a ridiculous amount of coverage sacks and no, Cam can't just throw the ball away every down as some here would have him do.

Yesterday we saw first hand what having a stud receiving core can do for a QB of Kaepernick's caliber. We had no answer for Boldin and Crabtree made some clutch grabs...Davis caught a touchdown that changed all momentum right before the half.

Our offensive line needs work, no doubt, but getting Amini and Kugbila back should create stiff competition at both guard competitions. Lets not act like Amini Silatolu is a scrub. He was actually playing pretty well overall when he went down and has the athleticism and physical ability to be a great guard for us for a long time. In between Gross and Kalil he will learn the mental aspects...the injury just hurts his progression and experience. I have a feel Gross will be back for another year or two.

We can find good talent at the right tackle position in the second or even third round. Any guy selected there is going to give Bell a run for his money and he will provide valuable depth. It's pathetic how often Cam had to take coverage sacks this season. Even with good protection up front he was forced to hold the ball far too long because of the lack of talent at the receiver position.

Look at the free agent WRs we have and tell me we don't need to draft a WR early.

But No team wins Without any weapons for a QB.  If you dont get guys out there no one will respect us and keep loading up the house and blitzing.  Get the OL forget the WR issue were going to be in the same spot next year.  We Had that Stud RT in 08 and what happened we just a one trick pony and all Arizona had to do was stack up.  They brought the house, our 5 guys struggled with the 5-6rushers and pressured Jake to launch and throw the picks.  You get the WRs, opens thing up want have the box all loaded for the RBs.  They arent going to be able to bring the house making it easier on the line.

Our super-bowl year we were balanced had the weapons outside to keep team honest opening up things for Davis and Foster.  Baltimore didnt have a Super Star OL, they were balanced across the board. Steelers Big Ben had what most were calling at the time one of the worst OL in football, but their D was solid across the board and Big Ben had more than 1 or 2 actual targets.

When was the last time a "star" receiver won a ring? Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, AJ Green...these guys are known as the three best in the league right? No rings, only Fitz has any playoff wins when he was paired with Kurt Warner and a younger Boldin. Steve Smith had one of the all-time great receiving years EVER in 2005, what good did that do us against Seattle when they tripled him all game long and dominated our offensive line?

One thing being lost here: our running game outside of Cam scrambles and some designed stuff was really really bad. The right side was getting no penetration whatsoever. A first round o lineman helps that a lot.

and so does an offensive linemen in the second or third round.

I'd argue that having a legitimate deep threat or receiver that can high point the ball and make tough catches in traffic benefits our running game more so than an early round tackle. If we had any weapons worth a damn on this team outside of an aging and steadily declining Steve Smith, teams would be reluctant to stack the box and it would free up our running lanes.

It works both ways...potent weapons in the passing attack free up and allow the running game + Cam running to get going. We do not have the weapons right now to keep a defense off balance. They can single cover anyone on our offense and we have no one that is a consistent threat to stretch the field and get over the top of a defense. As a result, the defense spies Cam, stacks the box, and shuts down our running game aside from broken plays where Cam gets out of the pocket and converts.

No....you see what a stud OL did for Kaepernick yesterday.  We got zero pressure on him and our only sack was a LB blitz.

The 49er offensive line played well yesterday; but they are traditionally much better run blockers than pass blockers. Gore and the running game made the comeback impossible. We couldn't stop Gore when we needed to get a stop.

Our offensive line played pretty decent I thought. It is tough to tell whether sacks are the result of the line or Cam holding the ball too long because receivers can't get open or more than likely, a combination of both. There were numerous times when I was just yelling for Cam to take off after progressing through his reads. I saw gaping holes up front and easy 7-10 yard picks up that just never came. Some of those sacks took us out of field goal range at a crucial time when down 20-10.

Not sure what game you were watching but pretty much the first 3 quarters Cam was getting more time than Kaep!!! They even repeatedly said 3-4-heck 5+ times on the telecast.  Thing is which once again proves the point for WR, Kaep had 3+ guys  wide wide wide open.  Instead of Cam waiting around looking for someone to get open, within 3-4 seconds Kaep only had to pick Who he wanted to throw to.  Swap WRs yesterday (along with a couple bonehead offensive call) the result would have been exact opposite.  Once their WRs started making catches we had to spread out which again opened lanes for Gore which as you saw in the second half had more lanes than I-485.
