I have "hovered" on the board over the years and have finally gotten the nerve to respond to a post. Take it easy on an old man please as I have observed some pretty brutal verbal beatings before. (Most warranted.) I too found the officiating one sided for the most part but the theme that has been running through my mind for the game, the season, and honestly through most of our history as a franchise is that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Just a modicum of imagination and innovation close to the goal line might have produced momentum swings that could have been insurmountable for there 49ers. I suppose that this is obvious though. So, a combination of horrendous officiating and predictable play-calling when creativity was needed most was just too much to overcome. Do we not have special plays in the book just for such situations? In addition, the slothful "hurry-up offense" if that is what it was, was ridiculous. We were moping back to the lion of scrimmage and burning precious clock.

So....I don't know NFL rules, but shouldn't that VD TD not have happened since their HC was almost 10+ yards out on the field during play? Just wondering.

which one?  also, i thought Brooks head butted Gross after the encroachment, also right in front of a ref.  i dont think any of us would be complaining about the no-head-butt calls if we weren't slapped with one early.
