In Depth Review of Why the Refs Sucked [Pics]

You know what I hate about this play. It cost the Niners nothing. Still third down. Doing something like that should have a risk attached to it.

Yeah that and the Tedd Ginn play killed me. I was so sure we'd have 1st and Goal...then I'm like, essentially HOW did that help us. On the Ginn holding/PI play, I don't see how we still end up at the 40. Any who as I told a friend the refs couldn't have cheated us on that I guess, as it's already written in the rule books.

Both plays were called correctly to the rules. I just wonder if the rules should change. The Ginn play was basically a "professional foul" 5 yards and a first down was a cheap price to prevent a TD.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the blatant hold on Keek that allowed Gore to rush for 40 yards with 12:15 left in the fourth quarter. That's the play, imo, that put the nail in the coffin for us.

It was almost comical watching 77 throw his hands up after Gore had scampered past... " I didn't do nuthin'!"

(Recap on NFL.com - Gore 39-yard rush)

They should have called a foul cause he clipped Cam in the helment with his leg.

Refs shouldn't have to try to figure was his contact intentional, when they made so many other crappy calls.

I actually thought the PI on Florence was a good call..he made no attempt to play the ball..that's a penalty..the personal foul on Mitchell was a complete joke..ball was tipped and landed right at davis' feet

Face guarding is only a penalty in college...not the pros.

    • Cam is the GOAT dual threat, but we've never been able to have back to back seasons with winning records despite the late season surge winning streaks, my favorite being the year we won the south in the 2nd half of the season. But winning 2 games late in the year against bad teams doesn't establish a "winning culture"  If they beat the Falcons bucs once, competitive against the chiefs and eagles i will have no problem with wins then because it's against legitimate competition but beating the giants and saints just to feel good, hard pass.
