Damn bunghole PSL owners in the lower bowl, especially on the sunny side, should be shot.  Red in the upper reaches of the upper deck is one thing, down in the first 20 rows of blue seats between the goal lines is another. :growl:

From TV the stadium looked blacked out, and I only could see very little red in the nose bleed sections

I don't know what you saw on TV but the crowd was overwhelmingly pro panther. Probably 95%. Red sticks out in a sea of black.

those seats are probably owned by brokers. Most desirable seats to away fans.

White stands out on a black background. Greatest chance for the rags to be noticed. I just think it would look cooler if they were blue, but those wouldn't have the same contrast as a white towel.
