Fudge it....Trade up for Sammy watkins.

He is not on the same level of AJ Green........ this guy is the screen king...

Panthers need a PURE WR. Big route running getting up to the ball. Moncrief will likely be there. There are a few top notch NCAA WR that can be grabbed in our first pick.

Evans would be Steve Smith Jr. fighting for the ball on every pass.

Jordan Matthews will be a force in the NFL.

Sammy is raw and can make plays with the ball in his hands but you have to design plays to get it to him. I think Panthers are better off with somebody else..

Aka I'm a gamecock fan

I was looking at team needs on

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000288658/article/2014-nfl-draft-order-top-three-needs-for-all-32-teams

it seems like maybe 3 or 4 teams really have a need for WRs before we pick. I'm sure things will change after the combine. Based on last year only 2 WRs were selected in the 1st round so I doubt 4 teams will pick WRs before we pick 28.

The top 4 WRs are: Watkins, Evans, Lee, and (Benjamin or Robinson or maybe someone else)

Of the teams picking before us only the Jets are guaranteed to pick a WR other than that you'll probably get some teams that get big eyed and get the best available player.

Yeah, mortgage the future for a skill player while ignoring the OL.

Worked GREAT in ATL!

At some point you have to develop the talent you have (Amini, Kug, Bell, Williams) or let them go. Can't keep drafting one position and not developing them.

Cam has Jake's supporting cast. He needs his own

Not particularly appealing to me either, but IMO, Watkins is worth it. Julio wasn't even a natural pass-catcher and had drop issues. Watkins has all of the physical abilities he has, perhaps more, and he attacks the ball.

I have wondered if the Falcons troubles this season were due to that trade catching up with them, but I can't attribute it exclusively to that trade. I think a great deal of their struggles were due to turnover as a result of age/pay issues. No doubt, it DOES cost you somewhere, but I'm not sure we'd be affected like they have been as a result of making a similar move.

I also think Gettleman is good at finding offensive lineman in later rounds.

The trade itself didn't really kill us. It cost a 1st round pick on one of the lines, but ultimately it was Dimitroff's picks on the Oline that killed us this year. We took what was considered the best C in the draft, and spent a 3rd on a RT. Both look like huge busts at this point.

If we had Carolina's defense, even with losing Greg Hardy, I would probably make the trade. Where I would have a hard decision is if somehow Jake Matthews was also available.

KB most likely will be gone by our pick.

We can't afford to keep Hardy, pay Cam, Keek, Stewart, CJ, re sign Gross, Mitchell, and get decent FA's. unless of course you know something I don't.

So in your ideal world, we put all of our eggs in one basket (DL). Then when the DL struggles like today, and Kap is able sit back and pick apart our secondary (which won't be able to get any better if we break the bank for Hardy) we're screwed. Need more balance.

And drafting Ebron would be us addressing a need while not having to spend big money. Can also draft a DE with one of the extra picks for a fraction of the price.

I'm guessing you were a big fan of Hurney? Good teams know when you get rid of there players and sell high. Hardy's value will never be higher.

Try to read some of this and not ignore it, you might actually learn something.

Good franchises know when to let players go, Pitty wasn't going to over pay for Wallace. And if it wasn't for Haley, they would have been in the playoffs again this year. Hurney tried to keep everyone and this is why we are in this cap space mess/hell.

A. Keuchly has 2-3 years left on his rookie deal. Why are you worried about his contract right now?

B. Gross will be willing to play for a minimalist contract..he wants to win he doesn't care about the money.

C. I never said keep Stewart. If its feasible then cut him...I hated that we re-signed him in the first plasce then signed Tolbert.

D. The strategy for Cam and Hardy is to franchise Hardy and re-sign Cam.

E. You really think Mike Mitchell impressed teams enough for them to want to steal him away? He's a product of the system...a system that doesn't work without great pass rush. Which is why you don't get rid of Greg Hardy and then hope for the best. Our success on defense and as a tea, is based on getting consistent pressure with 4 linemen. You really want to trade away maybe the best pass rusher we have when our whole concept is based on pressure with 4? Think again...

Hurney didn't know when to cut bait with washed up players. He also didnt know value of position (aka signing 80 million dollars worth of running backs). Hardy isn't washed up and his position is extremely valuable.

Has he been worth three first rounders and all the media circus headache they've had to deal with thus far?

I don't think he has, but that's just my opinion.

Actually, it's two 1st rounders. They just switched draft position in 2012. But I do agree that's way too much for any player(except maybe Cam). But they weren't crippled by just the picks but also the 30 million financial penalty the last 2 years. Pretty much RG3 was put in a tough situation from the start. Imagine the panthers only able to spend 90 mil for the next 2 years. That means we'd barely be able to sign free agents. While other teams are getting better we'd be coming back with the same line up. So it wasn't just about RG3. This is the same media that reports to you everyday that Andrew Luck is the greatest rookie QB yet ties the NFL record in INTs in the playoffs with 7 in just 2 games. Arm yourself with this knowledge so maybe your next opinion will be more fact base.

My knowledge is just fine, my OPINION is that he hasn't been worth what they gave up for him. The rest of the team aside. I was giving my opinion. The hostility is unnecessary.

No hostility here. Just saying that the team was imploding due to lack of financial resources to add new players. Not just because they lost 1 late first rounder(They picked late since they were in the playoffs last year).
